It’s such a shame this run wasn’t it, we had many great events like Illyana actually being good, a trained Lucia, the tainted runs, the siege tome energy, a thighs of steel Nephenee, a gigachad Brom, a dead Burger King in a 1v1 with Ike. So many good memories and all that’s left to say is thank you mangs for all the fun you brought us, don’t lose hope egg I’m sure someday you’ll beat this twisted ironman!

The point is, this whole run started falling apart from a low% random crit (Soren), and it technically was over because of a low% random crit (Brom).

The problem with low percentage crits is that the more enemy units you fight, the more likely it is that the crit will happen.

Brom being alive wouldn't have changed much if anything, at best the Bird Bros would've died one turn later, Nephenee probably wouldn't have died but she was trapped at the bottom anyways. Ike would've still gone north to fight Ashnard, get overwhelmed and die. it would've just taken one extra turn.

Let's be honest, Mangs' playstyle is him trying to force a round piece into a square hole and complaining that it isn't working. I love the streams, don't get me wrong, but so many of the deaths could've been avoided.

I still think that the run ended because Elincia wasn't deployed on the final map. That would have saved Illyana from some healing duty, letting her throw some Thorons into the Dragons. Letting the Deathball accumulate and kill people was his downfall.

Some attitudes that may help in the next attempt: - Never buy items in bulk from the armory, focus on buying directly into the inventory of the units you are about to use in the chapter, that way you won't waste money and will have more for forges and Volke. - Get your mages to promote as soon as you can and focus on getting them bonus exp. AND kills whenever you get the chance, you always forget to give them kills. Sages would be immensely helpful against those dragons. - ALWAYS check both flier and ballista ranges. No matter how safe you think you are, it's paramount that this is the FIRST thing you do at the beginning of every turn. - Use your bulky Paladins to find pitfalls at the bridge, it saves a lot of headaches and you can plan around it. - Don't count on skills to save your units. Tauroneo's Resolve is good, but putting him to fight swordmasters alone was a terrible idea.

a problem which a lot of the people from the FE community seem to have is consider Swordmasters worthless. Pretty much every fire emblem content creator bar a few looks down on swordmasters and trash talks the class to the point I'm starting to think they are forgetting they can be deadly, especially in a maniac run where enemies have high stats.

This takes 30+ hours with full dedication and complete focus. It's really painful. Come so far. So many epic moments: The epic Ike Level ups, the save state debacle, the thief chapter, Clash (16:40) and all the epic chat advice Get a better or upgrade PC.

After this run I can definitely say that the final (Ashnard) map on the Maniac Mode is one of the most unfair maps in the whole official Fire Emblem franchise. 1) The enormous enemy army, including the powerful, very hard-to-kill generic dragons and fast-moving wyvern lords, paladins and tigers? Check. 2) The reinforcements that will make your life even more miserable? (the Spear/Silver/Brave Lance-wielding Wyvern Lords and Physic Staff bishops). Check. 3) The final boss that has 10 move, can only be hurt by Nazir or Ike's Ragnell, and you MUST bait him away from the Physic Staff bishop, or else he'll completely nullify all of your efforts to hurt the boss? Check. 4) Being completely dependant on LUCK to proc Ike's Aether skill, or else you don't stand any chance against the final boss? Check!

how does the reinforcements work there? can't you clear the initial units in the bottom and then move upwards?, i see that mangs tends to move too fast and spread too thin for my taste, but i never played maniac mode.

The problem is that a massive amount of units swarm you from the very start and you can’t really kill them fast enough. Even with a strong army it is extremely hard to not lose anyone so he really had no choice but to rush it this time.

this is one of the most mixed maps ever for me. because I love the map design itself, it's very dynamic and interesting. I love that Ashnard starts moving on his own to decentivize camping, and I love the idea of the final map being a big chaotic moshpit. But.. PoR has a pretty big problem, and it's not giving the players enough tools to be able to weather the hazards it throws at you. It only has a few legendary weapons (and one of them is the double bow so it hardly counts) skill tomes being one time use, bonus EXP being in very short supply on maniac, and of course Ashnard only able to be damaged by Ike and the Laguz Royals (+Nasir for some reason.) I think the map itself is fine (minus the reinforcements), it's mainly just the design of maniac mode which drags it through the dirt. Add in a couple more more legendary weapons, be a bit more generous with BEXP, and most importantly allow all B rank or higher weapons to hit Ashnard and I think you're looking at a much better map. why B rank weapons? because the Yune randomizer changes Ashnard since you're not guaranteed to get Ragnell or any dragons, the change being he can only be damaged by B rank or higher weapons. and it's a much better fight, much much better.

First an awesome run mate, a great attempt. Just came up shy... and I hate being that guy right now but Path of Radiance has a support range of WITHIN three squares. With how the game counts it, I believe Ike and Ranulf were considered 5 spaces apart. IE too far away. No support on that Ike.

nah, Brom dying changed very little. even if he was alive Ike would've still gone north to fight Ashnard, get overwhelmed, and die. the only thing that would've changed if Brom didn't die when he did is that it would've taken 1 turn longer for bird bros and Nephenee to bite the dust.

@@Yuni-is-Schrodingers-Fox Mangs' gameplan was to have Nephenee and Brom's duo support to tank and hold the bottom line while he made his way up with the Anti-Ashnard units. Without Brom, Nephenee lost a lot of her defense and there wasn't any other characters strong enough to hold the line. Which meant that his only chance of winning was to put Ike in front faster than he planned in hopes of proccing Aether before he got overwhelmed. Which didn't happen. He laid it out in the stream.
