Wouldn't happen most likely (I could see a scenario where they allow you to "redeem" Orson if you perform the right actions), though.

Few fun facts for ya: In an efficient playthrough Vanessa is undoubtedly one of the single best units in the game next to Seth and Moulder (pretty much every early pegasus riders in GBAFE is that way actually). Joshua doesn't actually attack Natasha in Ch 5 which makes his recruitment much easier. There's a Torch staff in the shop in Ch 5 which moulder can use at base if you want to invalidate fog in Ch 6. Cormag is actually much better in Ephraims route because of his earlier recruitment. Phantoms actually upgrade their weapons based on the summoner's level all the way up to killer axes. In Ch 19 you can rescue Mansel and box yourself into the chest room on the left side to basically win the map for free if you are having trouble defending the various chokepoints. Lyon in Ch 21 can actually be one shot with I think a base Vanessa promoted to wyvern rider getting both a Crit & Luna proc one of which can be guarantee with triangle attack.

tbh you didn't even have to specify GBAFE, an early joining Pegasus knight is usually one of the best units in their respective games, only exclusions I can think of are snes fe and fates Great comment tho

@mr bagel Yep. Also, since the ai prioritizes kills whenever it can, you can use phantoms to manipulate it given you don't have another unit that can be killed in range. More fun facts: Torches actually just give a flat increase in vision range in GBAFE, so give them to your thieves for a massive amount of fog clearing. There is exactly 1 house in the whole game that gives an item, and it's the red roofed one in eirika's route on the chapter you recruit Ewan- gives a barrier staff. You never have to fight a single monster battle in the whole game just going chapter to chapter because the game actually ensures you always have access to the next one without needing to do one. In hard mode, the number of reinforcement waves in Ch20 is massively increased for some reason, but it's zone based so you can skip them if you're careful. There exists a way to take control of the enemies using lava tiles, or any sort of tile that causes an update in damage without needing combat in GFAFE, that means you can trade away monster weapons and give any unit a dark magic rank. There is an obtainable berserk staff in the game, though it requires a very, very specific kind of setup to get it because the guy that drops it usually uses it all before you can get to him.

The Pegasus knight slander hurts my soul :( They're a little tricky to use and 90% worse than Wyverns but the fact you always have like 2-3 of them and their low con (Higher aid) lets them ferry low movement units to tricky to reach spots and immediately take/drop. They can also just go and reach villages while combat units fight and do their thing. Also the Wyvern Knight promo is not to be slept on, early promoting Vanessa nets you a super useful earlygame flier that can one round a shocking amount of enemies.

Another note: you don't have to bait Joshua out. You just have to remove the enemies near him. He will never attack Natasha, so she can just walk right up to him.

Just a tidbit of information if anyone wants to go crazy next time in their playthrough of sacred stones: though Vanessa is an easily disposable early game unit she can play a major role in one map alone (or probably two). With her base stat you could use her in victims of war chapter, she could protect the entrapped family and stall the spider while she's rescuing the child, with vulneraries and antitoxin she could provide you enough time to race through the family and save them. At best Seth could deal with the charging enemy cavalries from the blindspot for a few turns and catch up with Eirika and the gang to get them to safety.

vanessa is amazing and shud not be underestimated train her in the early game and you can get a promoted flyer earlier that is going to outclass other flyers until the end game

I probably remembering it wrong but I recall Myrhh being an actual child not 100's of years old her support conversations with Dussel reveal it's her father that is the actual Great Dragon, but the villagers started worshiping her as the great dragon cause their dragon form are identical and her father never interacted with humans outside his dragon form.

25:10 killing riev is actually way easier than it looks because all most of those enemies are reinforcements, so if you get there fast enough he'll be mostly alone and can be 1 rounded by a strong unit with a legendary weapon

Something funny about Erika’s route: I recently did a minimum recruitment run where I recruited as few characters as possible, and this involves getting Innes and larchal killed. (Side-note, but it is genuinely difficult to get strong units like dozla and Innes killed, even on hard mode). However, because Erika’s route story assumes they survive they simply refuse to die, and participate in the story as normal even if you never recruited them. Pretty strange, especially in Innes case where his survival has story importance.

if Seth "dies" he's now just the group tactitian, if any of the units "die" during the assault with Ephriam the first time you play as him, they're just put on the back burner. there's quite a bit of plot armor for most characters in terms of not actually dying, but you can't use them anymore. unless it's the eiphriam bit.

@knotknight514 it doesn't really matter if he ends up decent (I say "decent" because even with training he's on par with Garcia at best, and Garcia is hardly "good"), the point is he's a pain to train. It's not HARD to train him, mind you, but the point is Pegasus Knights go through the exact same thing Ross does, except they're way better after training than he is, so if you say Ross is good post-training then you should also be able to admit Pegasus Knights are good, because they're honestly leagues ahead of Ross in terms of usefulness, even when they're still weak mind you Sacred Stones is a game you can beat with literally any units so it doesn't matter that much who is or isn't "good", i only say these things for discussion purposes. I use "bad" units all the time, I think they're fun

Two quick notes: 1) Vanessa is one of Sacred Stones' best units along with Seth and Franz. Early availability, excellent utility, and the Elysian Whip in chapter 8 allows early Wyvern Knight promotion. She can actually be one of your best combat units, as long as you're a little cautious with her, since she has enough speed in the early game to offset her lower strength and con. 2) Seth has better growths than any other mounted unit. He's a strong as the strong cav, as skilled as the skill cav, almost as fast as the fast cav, and has better HP and Res growths than any of the others. He's one of the best units in FE history, behind Sigurd and Seliph from FE4. And maybe the My Unit from New Mystery of the Emblem.

Personally would have turned Lute into a mage knight or whatever the horse mage is called in this one but hey preferences. Good job Side note, if you really wanna make things spicy and potentially challenging for Sacred Stones, a randomizer can REALLY make things stupid in the best and worst way possible.

Great vid! Please make more fire emblem vids. I started playing fe6 and really starting appreciating the Pegasus knights. Maps are big but they also have a pretty good resistance which is handy because a lot of my other units have a resistance of 0 or 1. With promotion they can also use swords which is more reliable than axes or lances since hit rate is low in fe6. At 28:10 I had a few pegasus/Falco knights fly west and take out riev. On that map I also used Mir as bait for the eye ball monsters and lead them over the water to a trap of light magic users.

Pegasus knights are real good, but you have to be careful when using them as they tend to be squishy. Idk why you were trying to kill a pirate with tana and Vanessa with those hit rates + weapon disadvantage. Regardless, good video
