The moment the music in In Search of Victory transitioned to piano, and the picture of Quan, Ethylin and their kids came up, I almost cried. Jugdral is full of tragedies, but their murder was one of the worst. Slaughtered in a desert, and if you take the manga as truth, Ethylin killed herself to prevent Travant from using her as leverage against Quan, who then relinquished Gae Bolg to save Altena, and died for it Genealogy of the Holy War might be my favorite of all the games, but holy shit it is brutal

well, what basically happens in the game is ... ethlyn gets killed mid-battle which causes Quan to lose his will to fight and hand over the Gae-Bolg in exchange for the life of his daughter which inevitably means his death as well.

The beauty of it is that you don't have to. My favorite difficulty setting is Hard/Classic because it's just easy enough for me to use whatever units I want with any build and still get through the game without too much trouble . . . but it's not as ridiculously easy as Normal the entire time. I also don't like the Casual setting in any case. I tried it once and I played as if it was Classic regardless.

And then there's people that refuse to try casual mode. You really need to try both to see the perspective. It really irks me when people say comments like "those people aren't true fans". All of you need to remember that it's that kind of elitism that makes FE notorious. To people not used to the game, FE Awakening's Normal/Casual is BRUTAL.

shadowofchaos725 All I noticed with Casual mode is: A. No permadeath (obviously) B. Mid-map saving So really, going from Classic to Casual isn't a massive step. All it means is that I can consider new strategies I've never dared to use, like sending in my strongest units into the fray on their own kamikaze style. I've never said that "those people aren't true fans". All I'm saying is I'm disappointed by the people I know when they say they're too scared to try playing a different Fire Emblem game.

Ocsttiac My first Fire Emblem game is Awakening(I still haven't finished it yet), but I really like the classic game mode and I thought the game is a really nice change of pace compared to the games I'm usually playing. It may be too late, but if you decide to start with Awakening, please remember that is greatly differs from the past games in the series. If you want to get into the series, note that Awakening adds in many things that the past games do not include, whether it be for better or worse.

NintendoPSX Zelda music is way more memorable. I only remember some recruitment themes and some boss themes from FE. The only game which IMO has a super memorable soundtrack is Awakening. Zelda has tons of memorable themes. Ballad of the Goddess The Great Sea The Dark World Lorule Castle Demise' theme Ghirahim's theme Saria's Song Overworld theme Ballad of the Wind Fish Gerudo Valley Termina Field etc

Well you get the elite ring in that chapter and I assume that Arden either got a lot of exp in the first 2 chapters or the level is nearly finished and the elite ring helped massively. I really wouldn't know since I don't use him like at all. I think the highest level he got for me was like 5.

Perhaps A LOT of boss abuse in the Prologue and Chapter 1. Notice how Ethlyn is a freakin' Paladin by Chapter 2 in the video. Definitely some boss abuse was going on. Either way, working that hard on both of them is sorta meaningless, especially given that Arden is a terrible father, and Leif will be fine regardless of how hard you work to make Ethlyn good.
