@@lpfan4491 I'd like to think of it as valter came into that conflict prepared to take down glen so he had his Lance at the ready. Obviously glen was not prepared to fight who he considered to be an ally so he wasnt left with much option or time to ready himself/choose the right weapon

I imagine Glen would have joined you as well had Valter not killed him. He would have gone back to the capital as Duessel had done, questioned Vigarde, and have been branded a traitor as well. It makes me wonder, if Glen had survived as well, would Duessel and Glen together have convinced Selena to join with them? It certainly would've made the plot more interesting.

I agree with this interpretation, and would add that the wyvern riders flee to the northwest direction of the map, which is not the direction which Erika’s troop had gone.

Glen is a Wyvern Lord proficient in both Swords as well as Lances where as Valter is a Wyvern Knight only proficient in Lances. Yes Valter has a weapon triangle advantage because of this, it's even more cheap on his part because he has a Killer Lance. As far as my mind is concerned with the Gardo generals, my cannon mastery weapons for them are the following: Reiv is the master of light magic, Selena for Anima Magic, Caellach for Axes, Valter for Lances, Dussell could master either Lances or Axes and Glen is the master of the sword. At least that's how I've always seen it. Glen was probably just as good with a Lances but the game makes you believe he S ranked in swords. But then Valter initiated the attack so Glen couldn't change weapons in time

Wyvern Knights have the pierce skill, which may allow their attacks to pierce through the enemy’s defense. It may freeze the game if the pierce skill triggers with a critical hit when using battle animations, though it seems fine with Valter.

What I like about this scene: Valter actually let Eirika and (arguably) Ephraim escape for his own reasons, too. And also spared Ephraim's group and Duessel from dealing with Selena early on. So, obviously, what Valter did wasn't about Glen betraying Grado.

Fun fact: Valter's name is a nod to Valtyr meaning "Lord of the dead" in norse and one of Odin's many names. Odin has Gungnir and Valter has his cursed lance. You're welcome

Wait a minute... Lord of a dead, you do know Rudolf's battle theme, right? Similar to Valter's true name that you mentioned in two years ago, I mean sure it might have a different soundtrack and a different villain's names, but don't you think that it would fit for Rudolf and Valter as an two brand new Lance units for FE8 and FE15? I'm just imagining that Rudolf can be a mounted cavalier with Emperor's Lance as an attuned unit and Valter as another fallen GHB unit? But... Valter, this time, has to be a fallen unit similar to Nergal's banner in FEH. Also, Valter has to come with decent skill sets. Like Fallen Lioyd, don't you think it would be a good idea for intelligent systems to add those two units in FEH? as a new banners for Valter and Rudolf in the future?, I mean, sure, we already have Valter and Rudolf in FEH, but their design is outdated, Not only the design, but their skill sets are too lame! In my opinion, Also, if you think of FEH's insane amount of crazy skills that has increased over the time like Potent 4, I would like to see a New Fallen banner for Rudolf and Valter as an completely new sets of skills and more stronger weapons in the future.

As a kid I played ephraims route and was sad after I heard that he died, cause I wanted to see more of him or even recruit him if possible. Playing Eirikas route afterwards was even more sad. I hoped, that at least he put up a fight somehow, but no.

1:57 General Valter of the imperial Grado army was so jealous about Glen's promotion, and Valter refused to serve Glen as the new 3rd best imperial general of The Grado Empire, but then again Valter wanted to be in an Caellach/Selena's rank to best Duessel who Valter knew that Glen had a suspicious aliy towards Ephraim so i think that's the reason why Valter decided to murder Glen to not let join combined forces of Grado general traitors between Renais. Whose alliances were opposite, meaning Renais and Grado had different goals of the entire continent of Magval. Like good and evil, for example.

Well, if you think about Valter's blurring on why Valter got exlied from Emperor Vigarde, he realized that Glen was a new 3rd best ranking General of The Grado Imperial army, but Valter didn't like Glen to serve him as his new 3rd Imperial General, The only reason why Valter wanted to take Glen's place it's because Valter thought he had been threatened by Glen so Valter decided to take Glen and be at 3rd best Imperial General again, next to Selena and Caellach, it's Valter's ambition to be at Riev's rank, so that way Valter becomes a new Emperor of Grado army.

No.You can get Glen by playing Creature Campaign mode. You need to beat either Erika or Ephraim's story to unlock campaign mode.

A subtle detail that I find pretty funny here is how if Glen was carrying a killer lance aswell, their combat would have been: Valter: 77 chance to hit, 11 damage, 36 crit Glen: 80 chance to hit, 17 damage, 35 crit. Dude literally carried a sword into a fight he had pretty good odds of winning if he'd brought a spear.

If only the RNGoddess had favored Glen that day, because it's funny that Valter needs to hit and crit the guy to ORKO him, where as the Sunstone just needed the one 5% crit to work.

If Glen equipped a Lance instead of a Sword, Valter would not have a triangle advantage and thus would deal 11 damage. Doing the math, a non-crit followed by a critical would deal 44 damage and will not kill Glen. Its incredible how Glen couldve potentially survived a powerful blow like that. Never go against the Weapon triangle.

This is why I hacked at chapter 2, I had glen trained until he got strong enough at chapter 12. so at that point glen was good enough to kill valtar with a sliver sword hehehehe xd
