"Fun" game dev fact: If you make enemy dancers/bards/refreshers, make sure that you either never put more than one of them on a map or that they can't dance each other even if they're side by side. The AI tends to bard train. Endlessly. The former also lets you give the player multiple refreshers since they won't be able to have infinite turns. A friend's game had multiple fe4 style refreshers and infinite turns is exactly what happened. It's been patched out, understandably.

Enemy dancers, I`d heard Tracia had them bust seeing them in action very different. And your description of the enemy AI definetly makes this one of the weirder maps in FE 12:04 Seeing Lifis reminds me why I enjoy having less than savory characters join the player. They help provide a nice contrast to the more noble members of the party. And they make for good buttmonkeys. 15:37 He says, with Tina only a few steps behind him. 16:15 Funny, I saw Tethys describe her dancing having a similar effect in the latest Paralogue in Heroes. 17:38 This makes for the most specific premotion requirements I have ever seen in Fire Emblem. Even more so than the FE7 Lords ones. And ouch, her stats get lowered But hey, she promotes to dancer, so I guess it could be considered a fair trade. Damn, Perne is a much better unit than I would expect. Five vigor stars seems overkill, but I could see it leading to some fun shenanigans. Also, him just yoinking the Thief staff from Tina is a hillarious image. 31:21 As funny as that image is, given how ineffective staff bonking was in RD, I can`t imagine it would be any more effective here. 32:09 That`s...a lot more tame than I was expecting. I see the Thief staff stealing stuff in the Heroes Forging Bonds convo is lore accurate. Tina definetly feels like the best example of a Thracia unit. Poor stats on paper, but has a stupidly useful personal weapon. 37:31I do wish more games let thieves steal items and weapons. It gives them some great utility outside of battle. Troude seems like he could work as filler unit if you either lost or failed to recruit Shiva or Mareeta.

Thracia has some interesting AI behaviours. Enemy Dancers are funny to see though. 12:04 Exactly. They're fun sometimes. 16:15 It's a common justification for moving again. Perne is insanely good. This was a map I distinctly remember trying to play without warp shenanigans. It was... certainly a time hahaha. The map is basically a bunch of narrow paths, and not many of my units got enough speed to prevent their stuff from being stolen. Asbel, my squishy mage, was my frontman throughout a few of my attempts, but I was struggling to get many of the chests and I was also dealing with Tina's thief staff... I eventually caved and spent a warp use to recruit Perne, take the thief staff and get Tina out of the way until Safy made her way over. A very quiet map once Perne joins and the enemies decide to just... leave. Also, yooooo Tina! Such a ridiculously fun unit. Sometimes I found myself _wanting_ her to miss her staff uses when trying to level her up, so I could save thief staff uses for when I really needed/wanted them. In the moment, I felt really clever when I got the idea to use the thief staff on a ballista to make that area safer. It's good money, but no one can actually use the thing... I ended up keeping one in my inventory as a trophy of sorts :D 39:59 Nothing personnel kid...

Then take off with the actual wallet. So Dancer is basically a promotion for a thief in this game? That's AWESOME. Sly VS Hamburgaler is such a funny image Why is that not a meme wait wtf why does this guy have a 25% chance to move twice Accost on Olwen for extra Dire Thunder attacks? Take Over returns. That's just the Funny Thief Bio song now. I am now getting the mental image of this tiny girl rolling up to an Anna and dropping like five ballistic missiles on her door and demanding cash. I really gotta hand it to Thracia, the game tells you "You are the bandits now!" and *actually commits to the bit* by giving you characters that specialize in subterfuge, guerilla warfare and just straight-up robbing the enemy blind, I'm proud of it. Too many games these days just don't do that, whether to avoid accidental spoilers (Battlefront II) or because they know they'll have to resolve it sooner or later (...regrettably, the Suicide Squad game.). Hell, I just dropped watching a Final Fantasy II playthrough 'cause... well, the game just constantly kept reminding me how this game's insurgent rebellion protagonists handle the concept of actually rebelling against an empire much more tactfully. You don't feel super-rebellious if, guess what, you're the only ones that are doing the actual rebelling.
@BigKlingy7 күн бұрын

@ Oh yeah, though that's only in some towns early in the game IIRC. Thracia's stupidest (positive) chapter, featuring the stupidest (also positive) staff unit and the stupidest (negative) dancers. Here's a few fun coding tidbits for today: 1) You're right, green units can talk through the sleep status, and that's because they're not using the "Talk" command (which checks for status). The dialogue event just starts as soon as they get next to their target (and this doesn't check for status). So yeah, probably an oversight. 2) The death flag of these bonus Dancers was coded in a pretty questionable way! Instead of doing something _normal_ like setting the flag in their death quote (how it's done in the rest of the game), they set it "when their HP reaches 0". Seems reasonable, except for one coding detail: final HP gets resolved *during the combat forecast.* So if you select Attack and reduce a Dancer to 0 HP *in the combat forecast,* they're considered dead, even if you don't actually attack them. ... And if you select Capture and reduce a Dancer to 0 HP in the combat forecast, they're ALSO considered dead. Because capture also "reduces HP to 0". So yes, it's very easy to accidentally "kill" the Dancers, and that's why it's best to either steal from them or wait until they've both spawned before capturing them.
@BigKlingy8 күн бұрын
1: That makes sense. I guess only NPCs/enemies in later games are coded as if they use the same commands you do. I'm so glad this is a thing though, as it makes the Xavier recruitment not horrible. 2: That's... so weird. Both the death flag being set that way, and it being resolved on the combat forecast. I'm so lucky I didn't "preview" at attack on any Dancers. Also it working this way would explain why you're not allowed to capture dancers here, but you CAN capture the Leonster soldiers in Chapter 18 and still get the reward for sparing them. (Why aren't both chapter mechanics the same? Kaga, I guess.)

Speaking of games implying that a male character is doing unspeakables to female characters without saying: I was actually making a similar note with the game I've been streaming lately. In the Definitive Editions of the game, they added in Interlude chapters for some of the party members in the middle of the game to see what they were doing and how they ended up in their situations for when you find them again later in the game after being split up. One of the girls in the party, when you find her is CLEARLY mind controlled by the villian in the area, and says things like, "I belong to him now. My heart, my soul, my body." And after you break the spell, she says to the villian "Have your way with me, would you?" Coupled on top of just how much of a sleeze the villian acts, and it's just like, omg. But in the Interlude chapter involving her? They go out of their way to exaggerate that this guy sees the "ultimate romance" as holding hands, and he comes off as a hopeless romantic with way too much self confidence, who's still a jerk. I honestly feel like her Interlude chapter was the game devs way of screaming, "We swear, he didn't do unspeakables with her! We promise!" I love that you used P5 music for Tina. That's amazing. XD You know? I think a free extra Master Seal and Warp Staff ate fantastic rewards for playing pacifist and not hurting any dancers. ^3^

Tina, aka the priestess that steals? no dignity! But seriously tharica 776 has alot of stupidly fun stuff to do. I wished someone would do a "x is broken" for fire emblem games, especially one like thatica 776
@BigKlingy8 күн бұрын
Another reason why I don't believe Thracia is "the hardest FE game" because there's so much dumb broken stuff and a lot of it isn't even that hard to see. (Even if you don't warp this map, you can just Hammerne Tina's Thief Staff and it's pretty obvious how to recruit her)

17:48 Lara promoted to a Dancer and I don't need to tell you why that's a good thing, but in short Dancers do what Vigor Stars do: Make Units Move Again (Though it would been funny if Lara got an extra Vigor Star in her promotion). I don't want to talk about dancers. I want to talk about the fact that she can promote multiple times. Now, you can make her a dancer at any level she's at, even if she's a rogue. But you can also promote her to Rogue again as a Dancer. So, if you're REALLY Patient (Or playing Paragon Mode), you could make her into a Level 20/20/20/20 Unit and with some scrolls and luck, nearly cap all her stats. But if you want to keep her as a dancer, keep her at a Level 20/20/20 (Oh, FE Radiant Dawn was the First with Third Tier Units? Nope, Thracia Did it first.). In short, It's possible to make her a Death Machine. Also, she doesn't lose her Thief Abilities, so she can still open doors, chests and steal. Effectively, she could be the best dancer in the Entire franchise that is Fire Emblem, but maybe I'm overhyping this. 19:44 Perne: Lifis if he was a good Combat Unit. Why does he have Sol? I will never know. Maybe he's somewhat related to Dew? Why does he have Miles better growths in all areas, 5 FCM and 5 Vigor Stars? Because he's *_"The Cooler Lifis"_* 24:29 As Heroes sometimes does, intentional or not. I heard it spoiled something relevant to Radiant Dawn, but I'm beating the dead horse here with the RD one, there's probably better examples that haven't been explained enough (I think). 33:41 Tina is known for more than being a Healer, she's good at TWO magic tricks at the moment. One is her unlocking doors and chests with the wave of a wand (Unlock Staff). The other is her holding a Top Hat (Thief Staff), pulling anything out of the hat (in this case, a Master Lance or something) and running off with anything from the hat (5 Vigor Stars, and Probably 5 Wanted Levels for her stealing something that expensive). 100/10 performance, will see again. Wait, where's my DS? 41:41 Macha, Shiva, Mareeta. There's better options than Troude. The only reason you would want to use Troude is if the others are dead or not in your team. (How did you even lose Mareeta in one chapter? Well, there's a few reasons. All reasons point towards the Not Captured Salem)

17:48 I feel like Olivia in Awakening is a lot easier to make strong. 19:44 I don't know why he has Sol either, but I'll take it. 33:41 Tina's wanted level is probably Over 9000.

This map frustrated me so much when I played it the first time lol. I can look back at it now and laugh, but maaaaaan, it gave me trouble. So basically BEFORE Thracia, I was someone who rarely, if ever, used staves like Warp, Rescue, etc. in FE. I usually would try to base my strategy around not using them. I think I just didn’t want to waste their uses and if I could find other ways to do maps, then I’d do it like that. Plus, idk I feel like they’re not as necessary in some of the other games?… Anyways, I kept trying OVER and OVER to do this map without using Warp. I kept thinking, “There has to be a way? Why can’t I get this done?” I spent hours starting over trying to figure it out…to the point where I was getting really pissed off over it. After a very long while, I caved and thought, “Damn it, let me just use Warp.” And would you look at that…this map becomes INFINITELY easier when you use Warp. I was able to get everything done and get all the side objectives that I wanted to get done, done. Ever since that map, I’ve become soooo trigger happy with using staves like Warp, Rescue, Rewarp…basically anything that isn’t a healing staff lol. I no longer leave them hanging in the inventory. They’re getting USED now. In Engage, I used Rewarp, Warp, and Rescue A LOT. I was not afraid to waste the uses on them. This map taught me a valuable lesson in FE lol. Also, it’s so funny bc on paper yeah, Perne is definitely better than Lifis, idk how in the hell my Lifis ended up better than Perne. I used them both for a while, but by like Ch. 19/20, Lifis eclipsed Perne entirely and Perne basically was benched. Lifis had 17 Con by the end of my Thracia run, which makes me giggle just thinking about it. I guess I just got lucky with Lifis lol. Tina, I only used her for the Theif staff really. She’s a big help in getting rid of some Ballistas and the Sleep Swords in Route A. Other than that, she was just kinda…there lol. Lara’s promotion here is really cool! They should bring something like that back one day. Thracia has a lot of cool unique things like that.

It does kinda suck when a map practically expects you to warpskip it, though I appreciate Engage for actually tutorializing staves. In my first run I got tricked by a guide into thinking Perne was bad, just because he's a pre-promote...

I feel like this would have been a great time to give Salem a personal tome, his conversation with Perne shows that him giving Salem a tome would be very much in his character. Like "Hey I found this digging through some bookshelves here, I know that you could make good use of this Salem." *gives Salem a personal tome* However I wouldn't have made it a choice between getting a Dancer and the dark magic user a personal tome, because in no world is a personal tome better than a Dancer. Instead if Salem didn't recruit Perne he'd give it to Salem at the end of the chapter assuming that both he and Salem are still alive, now if Salem was the one to recruit him he'd get it right away understandably. I have a rough idea of it's stats however, name-wise I think some figure associated with evil who wasn't truly evil from Norse mythology would be a good name, something befitting of Salem himself. This is my best attempt at coming up with stats for this theoretical personal tome; Name: TBD Might: 8-12 Weight: 6-8 Hit: 80-90 Crit: 0 Range 1-3 Considering that Asbel has Grafcalibur, which is basically the Tome equivalent of a K!ller weapon with it's high crit and Olwen has Dire Thunder, which is a Brave tome. My idea was to go with a 'longbow' tome for him, something that would immediately set him apart from the other mages with personal tomes as he would be able to target enemies that the others wouldn't be able to without siege/seize tomes as well as being able to take on other mages or archers at range without risk of retaliation. I'm not sure that this is balanced well but this is a rough guess, I made it slightly weaker than the other personal tomes to balance out the 1-3 range aspect of it as you trade the power for the extra range. The goal was to make the first ever playable dark magic user more than just a staff-bot and actually be able to utilize his dark magic, plus this would make getting him to the rank to be able to use Fenrir easier.
@BigKlingy8 күн бұрын
That'd be kind of cool, though if you had to give up a Dancer for it I'm sure most people would NEVER choose it. (See: the Reyson choice in PoR)

@@BigKlingy Yeah, that's why I would have made it either having Salem recruit him or have it given to him at the end of the chapter given that they both survived, which with the Warp strat is pretty much guaranteed.

A map to go pacifist mode in, starring "enemy" dancers! And stealing technically isn't fighting them. And now, well deserved karma for Lifis. Guess that gives a new meaning to him being a slimeball, eh? ...sorry not sorry, because Lifis. Funny music will never not be funny. Perne's a pretty nice F2P unit in Heroes. His Kingmaker is called Blade Royale there, too. Oh no! A class change that lowers stats instead of increasing them? Well, not that it matters when it's a dancer class. I'll also say that it's nice that Lara didn't hate dancing, she just hated the people who kidnapped her for obvious reasons. Wow, that thief staff is something else.
@BigKlingy8 күн бұрын
Oh, the sword's in Heroes? That's good to know. Weirdly, there's a bonus "spare these enemies" objective later on that's coded differently and you ARE allowed to capture them.

*Unit Review* Lara unlocks *UNLIMITED POWER!* One of the most valuable dancers in the series. Perne's so good. 25% chance of getting an extra turn, a good sword rank, better speed and con than Lifis probably does. Vantage has situational applications but Sol isn't something I value much. The Kingmaker is so good it makes *that* swordmaster's combat slightly salvageable. But like... why would you? Just give it to Leif. Tina's one of my favorite units ever. Unlock is a neat unique staff but Thief is what we're really here for. She'll miss her staves for a while but hey, that plus 5 vigor stars at least makes her funny. But so many crazy things can be done with Thief. Stealing ballistaes, stealing a berserk and using it on the enemy boss to slaughter the enemies. Tina's got first dibs on her sister's Hammerne uses by far. And now the boring one. Trude's ok. He has a nice base HP and sword rank. He can kill stuff like the other myrmidons, albeit with less skills and/or FCM. He only needs two levels ro promote. Nihil has niche applications the others don't get aside from Mareeta with her personal sword.
@BigKlingy8 күн бұрын
A Thief Dancer is a cool idea I'm surprised hasn't come back. The sad thing is, in my first playthrough I never used him because old guides said he's a pre-promote and therefore bad. (The height of this hilarity was Deen. Guides assumed Eda must be better because she wasn't a pre-promote. She actually has WORSE GROWTHS and lower FCM than him.) Tina's one of my favourites too. I was expecting you to say Troude was better than Mareeta, honestly.
@nachohangover51048 күн бұрын
@BigKlingy Eh. I guess Trude's a bit more practical. But really I just don't think there's much of a difference between any of the myrmidons. Trude's certainly the most boring and unremarkable though.

A very….weird chapter even by Thracia standards. Really just have Lara become a dancer, steal the easter egg enemy items, grab all the chests and leave. Nothing much more than that. Tina: She’s is most certainly…..A Thracia unit. She may look awful and training her up is VERY tedious but considering her 2 personal staffs it’s worth it. Though if you do plan on using her give her EVERY scroll that boosts her skill growth and never take them off her until she hits 10 skill. Trude: Well….he has Nihil, he has pretty good-ish stats for a myrmidon, he can use silver swords at base. Really the biggest issues he has are that he joins much later after Shiva and Mareeta joined up last chapter so. It can be hard to justify using Trude unless you really want to. Perne: Full bias alert here, I think Perne is THE BEST thief in all of Fire Emblem. Engage’s thiefs come close but Perne is better imo. Very good stats, 5 FCM, 5 MOVEMENT stars, Sol, Vantage, AND thief utility in Thracia?! Two words: YES. PLEASE. Also worth mentioning is the Kingmaker which is an absurdly good sword that also gives charm. I usually end up giving this to Leif to have him act as a charm user and to better protect himself. Definitely use Perne you won’t regret it.

Nice to see those 3 fellows in this while one of the 2 is in Heroes presented & is.. unfortunately not included in the gacha game but yes. Anyways, this map unlike other map chapters in FE5 = Thracia 776, the easiest simple clearest map to succeeded without to much efforts Fighting or/& Killing Perne's troops at all but to capture/release of one of em which is very nice for the strat tip & it helps for the players who hardly knew of it. Getting Perne to recruit, out from all Lifis & Salem talks simply, Lara I agree to be Canon & plus. Yay. Promotion in script but minuses some of her stats. Aww. Perne's & Lara's Bios.. I C.. Oh Trude.. Hmm.. Oh Safy has it to clear the fog of this map using the torch. Good strat.. & for the turn of it, Safy uses the Sleep on him.. & captured by Leif's troop. Nice. With Perne's troops backing off the fight to wait for their boss to clear of the misunderstandings against Leif's troops, treasures to grab.. & how kind those Thieves see themselves off to let the other troops taking theirs even the dancers won't be in their way.. Safy & Tina... Yep... Misunderstanding of her explanation which her older sister knew what's up.. & I'm with her there.. I'm weary of a headache of confusion.. (Jeez Tina.. That explains in Heroes in a funny way.) Her bio... I'm pretty surprised for her as unit that skilled in Staff despite hilarious a trait of a characters she is to be.. But that's who she is.. Oh? 25 to 30 turns? Dancers? Very nice. After the smooth & quick clear chest pickups even seizing by Leif to end the battle, looks like for more hands to join his cause. Before that, Trude's Bio.. Not bad.. To the next but till then.. Hmm...

-That rude dude Trude...actually yeah he's mostly just forgettable. If it's too much of a pain to recruit him, I just take him out or let him leave. Those sleep staff uses are valuable you know hehe. -Great showcase of this chapter, the three different people who can all recruit Perne and the Tina shenanigans are so good. It's sad how annoying this chapter is without the Warp staff though, it gives a lot of people a bad first impression. -I love that Lara loses stats when she changes class to Dancer, and yet she's still much better as a result. -Unfortunately Kaga sometimes breaks his own sleep/silence rules, and lets you talk to at least one person later under those statuses from what I recall. -Accost is decent, mostly if you're running a boss-killing Asbel with lots of investment and want to increase his odds to kill some tough bosses on turn 1 via warp skips. Otherwise, I'd probably sell it or give it to...idk maybe Xavier. -Ah Tina, everyone's favorite silly lucky girl. I look forward to Tina shenanigans every playthrough. Thracia design is so fun, who would have thought that tiny Lara and Tina who are so weak at combat would be so good? Well in this game, staves and weakness and cleverness are at the peak of their powers. Like the fatigue mechanic, there's a lot of value in figuring out how to do as little combat as possible and still beat the chapters. Outsmart the enemy, and take full advantage of the mechanics of the game before they're used against you. Tina and Lara kind of epitomize the clever design of the game. -I saw a playthrough where Chapter 14 was used to train up Tina with I think the Fortify staff from this chapter. She spammed it for big XP and became quite good for all the later work she needs to do. Maybe they even gave her the Paragon skill beforehand, I don't recall.

He's maybe one of the most boring characters in this game, both gameplay and story-wise. Yeah it's a shame you sorta need to cheese this, although at least you get back everything Tina steals if you recruit her, and Safy can repair her staff. 1:39- I still push for bringing him since even if you don't use him for the "thing" about this map, you do want to bring Lifis to help with stealing and unlocking stuff. 6:22- What? That's so bizarre. Regardless though, still a stupid change given how much that came to bite them in the literal next game with FE12 and a major subplot character's past being tied to it. Though I'll blame the ratings board for that one since that era was when they were a bit more active with removing stuff (ex Also see Pokemon and the removal of gambling with the hell of Voltorb Flip). 7:55- Which is neat. Makes for an interesting gimmick, especially given how unlike PvP or FEH's traumatization caused by enemy dancers, enemy dancers in this game are infinitely more fair and used to test more interesting map design. 9:43- Typical Tina missing with it. lmao 10:51- Oh yeah it was. Not going to lie, hope that in a remake of the game they do make his first line that since it's great. lmao 11:12- They actually voiced that in FEH?! LMAO 13:14- I do hope that a remake fixes that since it really is stupid that I have to waste my first sleep staff use on him so he doesn't run off. Also feels out of character for Trude in that being one of the few people in the gang that Perne trusts the most, it feels so weird for him to just bolt off, especially when it's due to HIS BOSS joining up with us willingly. 17:39- And it gets worse if you promoted her first and then do this dancer event since she loses A LOT more stats than just than skill and speed (and she loses frikin seven speed). Found that out recently when looking up promo bonuses for this game on Serenes and saw that near the bottom. Also yes people, this means you can promote Laura, go into Dancer... And then promote her again back into Rouge. DON'T DO THIS. Don't even give her a master seal. Just do this event and enjoy your new dancer. 18:00- Which does feel jarring if you go from FE4 and right into this game, but it's for the better; Imagine all the stupid sh^^ you could do if it it was still refresh all adjacent allies on top of all the crazy things Thracia lets you do. 19:48- This was not an image I thought I would be seeing today when I woke up. LMAO 19:51- That I'll debate only due to the stupidity of Super Defense Dew from my revisit to FE4 awhile back. lol 20:40- But yeah, Perne's a great unit. Always use him when you can when you need both stealing and fighting on a map. 31:43- Wait what? That can't be right. I always assumed she was at least a few years younger than Leif. Guess she's looking younger than her age lets on. (33:42- Although if that's the voice they decided to give her, then that makes much more sense now.) 34:51- So much so that I've heard how people RIG MISSES, not hits which you think people would RNG manipulate for to offset her low skill, just to help train her up faster without wasting her personal staves. 34:58- Dang, was kind of hoping you held off on mentioning those guys since it's always funny seeing blind reactions to those guys. 36:02- It'll be a sad day if they change that in a remake since there's two bosses on thrones that have Berserk Staves that you're better off using Thief on to take them if you can. 36:30- And that's Tina. Easily one of my favorite units in Thracia. Thief staff is so much fun to use. 37:35- Agreed. PoR/RD's stealing is a happy medium between how stealing usually is in FE versus how it is in Thracia. FE REALLY needs to bring back proper stealing like it was in Thracia/ the Tellius games. 3H's stealing was nice, though it doesn't seem to be worth as much outside of harder challenge runs. We need more FE games with the kind of stealing that happened in this game and PoR/RD. 40:14- Not going to lie, I always hold onto this last dancer and the throne room one after getting the warp staff to humor the joke of trying to get multiple dancers into our army on top of having Laura. If we ever get a game that has Fates' capturing again, I want to capture and enlist generic dancers for the sheer chaos it'd create. lol 42:40- Yeah, Trude's... Just there. That said, looking at his stuff again, he's a lot better than I remembered. That said, he really needs more to stand out, less so for gameplay (though I've seen people toss around the idea of having him come in promoted to make him more stand out) and more so for character. In other news, a lot since last time as I've now beaten Reboot Camp. Great Sea Battle went fine until the end where Hawke's cluster of units stalled me for a few turns; Still got a S Rank of 289 though and I actually liked that factory mission. Hot Pursuit took some attempts only because I played too cautiously and wanted to play faster and that was an easy S Rank. Also really funny turning the last turn into Grit's Shooting Gallery with all of the artillery and rockets I had lined up with his Super Power Active. And then came Final Front. A bad life decision happened where I decided for my CO selection was to close my eyes and randomly picked my COs... But it turns out that I went unpunished for my bad life decisions as I got in order, Andy, Eagle, and Kanbai, which was a really good team with Andy even coming in clutch on multiple occasions. That said, F^^^ Final Front was a world ride trip and a half, but in an ultimately good way. I say ultimately good way in that Andy and Eagle, the latter especially, were suffering greatly for the first two weeks as the left flank was in a massive stalemate in Sturm's favor. Most it became them suffering immensely, especially when I accidentally lured a Neotank from the center onto that flank, while a lone Eagle Bomber snuck around the back to blow up both of the Black Cannons (the left flank was won eventually, but by that point it didn't nearly matter as much when compared to the center and right flanks). Kanbai had an infinitely nicer time, albeit a time where his first two weeks were about being constantly zoned out by Rockets or clogged up by either Medium tanks to Battle Copters with artillery or anti-air being badly placed to deal with them. Or how he had a meteor dropped on his bomber that almost costed me and had the battle prolonged for a second one to be built and carefully flown around to not take any damage on its way to the center to destroy the the right pipes leading into Sturm's base, a unit for the power score, and deal the finishing blow to the Death Ray. On the note of the power score, I had the most insane and stressful time setting it up as I had Kanbai get eight frikin kills in one turn to get it after having the other two armies needing to both carefully weaken the enemies, but also get out of their way for Kanabi to get it (including needing Eagle to drop a missile on one of Andy's Neo Tanks to make it possible to hit the enemies surrounding it). And that was enough as Sturm only had 76 total units deployed after that kill streak and had built new stuff on his final turn. But after that and inflating Kanabi's troop numbers enough, I not only beaten Final Front, but managed to get a frikin 300 on it (although I will fully admit, if that map didn't have a doomsday timer and was like AW1's final battle, I would have needed multiple shots to get a good speed score as speed is not an issue on this map as is). That was easily the most intense fight I've had in a strategy game since my first Noble Wars' field battle in Battle Brothers. And as the credits rolled, I played the OG credits theme from AW2 instead since MAN was that song the true accompaniment needed after beating that final battle. And with that, I'm done with Reboot Camp. Mostly. Going to have some fun with War Room, Map Creator, and maybe even some online battles to fill out the dog tag more. Want to at least have some fun using Sturm and Hachi after unlocking them. I'll also need to write my Backloggd review some time this week, although legit question, do I need to use the spoiler tag button thing if I mention Sturm? Not sure if mentioning him is enough of a spoiler for that site to shoot down what I write. Besides that, once I mentally recover from that ordeal, it'll be time to move onto something else for my games and I'm rather spoiled for choice at the moment. Plus I really need to get back to ARF soon and maybe MD (though not filling out the current pass, so RIP Snowman Eater Mate). For now... I think I need to listen to that AW2 Credits theme again.

@jaredfayette2567 I had the extra bonus of promoting Lifis here since he ended up being the better thief than Perne since Lifis really popped off after this map probably because of his rivalry with Perne. If FE12 was official localized, they probably would have rewritten that backstory as well if rating boards were an issue. Call me crazy but I still don't like enemy dancers in this game but most of that is because of Chapter 18 if you know what I went through. I really liked Aerith for having a similar line in the remake with a ladder. It would be cool if Trude would go off and recruit himself to find out why the others are fleeing the map or something like that. The only reason to promote Lara into Rogue is if you really want her to gain more levels for extra HP and con growth but with stamina drinks, you can deploy her on most maps even if her HP is really low. I was a bit cheeky with Lara on this map since I knew I wasn't going to fight on this map so I gave her all of the relevant scrolls since this is a good opportunity to boost that HP mainly and then rest her next map since I really want her for Chapter 14. Player phase would be even more crazy if Lara could refresh more than one unit. First, I did call the episode "Honour Among Thieves" since that is the sub title for Sly 3 and that comparison is funny because Lifis ended up the better thief in my playthrough. Dew does put the Fighter into Thief Fighter if you raise him well so I really like him too alongside Patty who can turn out really fun with the right pairings. For my FE4 playthrough, while I normally have Dew as the father, Gallade suggested I make Holyn the father and it worked out quite nicely for Patty despite the lack of the Bargain skill I was used to her having. I was planning to make him the main thief like in my practice but then Lifis happened. Those strong bases alongside the Build Ring make him great at sticking around and stealing some really nice gear. She does look like a 12 year old to me. That would be a much quicker way to train her rather than using heal staves. Speaking of Tina, I named the Phantom Thieves, The Dandelion as a reference to this game and then you realise the music that plays for Tina's bio makes things come full circle. I think one of the strongest things about the Thief staff is using it to steal the Sleep Edge in 16A and getting those can really open things up for stealing valuable stuff and of course, Xavier. She is also a menace in Heroes unless the enemy has the F^^^^^^ snake on their team. The problem with RD is that Heather is kind of underwhelming as an unit since she is quite low for the Part 2 favouritism with Nephenee and Haar around and she is the the thief that gets the most chapters to steal stuff. That reminded me that my brother could have gotten multiple dancers in his Conquest randomizer due to reclassing but he stick with one to not break the game. Grit is perfect for Hot Pursuit, at least on Normal, since he can destroy the cannons without needing to break the pipes which makes your life a lot easier. Final Front is always a weird map to me since the Hard mode layout might be easier than the Normal mode one. Glad to hear you conquer it too since on my first playthrough, this was a tough one to figure out and took me many attempts to win. My last playthrough had that really funny strategy with the clutch Colin bomber and also meant that thanks to my performance from Hot Pursuit and this map, Sturm couldn't fire a single meteor at me and ending things off with a perfect S rank on this map just like you, with the credits theme and unlocking Sturm was really satisfying. I would put the spoiler tag only because Sturm does demand my respect due to how amazing of a villain he turns out to be due to how broken he is and the pressure it feels like he puts on to you. I also think reacting blind to Sturm would be more fun. Will be fun to read that review with my experience of the original AW2 and good luck with your future plans. As for myself, more progress with both Innocent Sin and Eternal Punishment, with the former starting the final dungeon exploration and the latter being done with the annoying dungeon that stops you from using your Personas. My brother is going strong with his Hard mode playthrough as he is on Chapter 14 and he also beat Bahamut who is the closest thing that FF7 remake has to a super boss but more challenging things will be coming to him in the future.

Oh yeah, the ones in Chapter 18 can get rather obnoxious if you're trying to steal their stuff while also trying to make sure you don't kill any of right soldiers if you wanted the Secret Shop Card. I do recall you not liking them in the LP. On that note, managed to find time to watch more of it and I'm almost done Part 2 of Chapter 19. Again sorry for being very slow, but I'd figured you'd enjoy hearing it regardless. I like the idea of Trude trying to recruit himself. That'd be a really nice change for a remake. That's a fair point for the first promotion to try and fix her HP since she usually alternates between being fine and needing to sit a map out with how low it is. In hindsight, yeah this map is a really good one to dance abuse with Laura since you're already wasting time for the Turn 25 Master Seal and the Turn 30 Warp Staff, so it's not like you're doing anything better during that time. That he does as I know from memey experience. lol But yeah Dew's usually a good father to Bridget's kids, although I'm not surprised by Gallade's suggestion to do Holyn as he's the usual the other recommended lover for Bridget since you just get really strong kids and a good sword user passing swords down to Patty too. I prefer Dew since outside the memes, it is nice having a holy blood user with bargain without the 40K Bargain Ring investment with his son. No surprise there. I keep forgetting you can actually name the PTs, but that's still a nice use of that naming ability there. That's certainly one of its best uses, especially if you're trying to recruit HIM. That's how I always get mine as I play through A Route (though I did notice a non-mounted Sleep Sword User in 16B during your LP, so that's one legit positive of B Route with not needing a Thief Staff use be a soft mandatory to recruiting HIM if you can capture a non-mounted guy to get it as well. Still not doing B Route, but hey small victories). Funny hearing she's broken in FEH, but I supposed that's the norm for most banner units with FEH's extreme power creep. Assuming the snake is that one FEH OC from Book 8(? I've honestly really haven't given a crap about FEH save for the funny comics they post on Twitter and the Christmas Takeovers), though I'm assuming they're truly obnoxious if they've got you swearing and cursing their name. I still like using her to steal items. Helps with getting more BEXP on the supply burning map too. I honestly got a lot of use out of Heather in my last run of RD since stealing vulenaries does add up surprisingly well. Also she actually got to build up a support with Haar, so she became free attack bonus for him too. Not going to lie, honestly surprised he shot down the idea. Given how much he's been able to break games in crazy ways, you'd think using multiple dancers if the chance came up would be on the list. Guess even for a game breaker like your brother multiple dancers crosses the line. On Normal Mode, since most of Sturm's units are locked behind the second pipe (and the few land units that are free just... Stay put for some reason) it becomes, like I said earlier, Grit's shooting gallery. It actually does look much easier on Hard Mode with watching Klingy's LP since between Sturm's stuff being spread out and the Black Cannons facing the opposite way, it makes it A LOT easier. Anyway, many thanks. Oh yeah, I remember talking with you about your cheese strat, which was interesting. Thinking on who I would have picked if I didn't let RNG/bad life choice decide for me, I think I should have used Collin too. Besides being usable in your cheese strategy, I've also seen people say he makes for a great middle CO to clog the center and out resource Sturm while your main guy does the job (though I'm assuming that's only for Reboot Camp if OG 2 still uses the "main" CO for the basis of the score and not the game ender CO). Back to you, your feat of not having a meteor dropped on you is quite impressive since even with how massive his power meter is, I still felt like Sturms' kept building up A LOT during my run of Final Front; Took until after Meteor #4 where it felt like it finally slowed down. But yeah, it certainly felt rewarding listening to the OG credits theme (shame Reboot Camp didn't carry it over) while getting the pop up message that you can now unlock Sturm (and Hachi for me since Reboot Camp made him easier to get as seen with me). Very good points. I'll certainly use the spoiler tag for him then. Many thanks as well for the advice and good luck. Well done on both IS and EP. Nice to hear IS is almost done (though looking occasionally at the thumbnails for that series without context, I did get caught off guard with the most recent of [as of the 27th] since I mistook the enemies on it as space jet fighters and got very confused for a second. lol Figured I'd share that in case my stupidity gets a chuckle out of you). And very good to hear you're done that annoying dungeon; Remember you telling me about that one and how much that one sounds like it sucks. Hope that things continue to go well. Well done to your brother's progress as well. Oh yeah, I think I heard people talking about that as well with that super boss. Forget if it was for good or bad reasons though. Regardless, good to see your brother defeating it, though I wonder what could outdo the closest thing to a super boss in terms of difficulty. Best of luck to him with that, whatever it may be.

@@jaredfayette2567 Then Leif or August were like, "You know, he did help clear up those ballista in Nowell Valley, so maybe we should respect his request." The fan translation for FE12 that I am familiar with is on the older side considering it doesn't update the names of the new characters. I also didn't know about the button that skips the animations and if you don't deal with the dancers, they will keep dancing. I also wish I knew about that button for playing Chapter 19 since I could have cut down the video length considerably. Forgot to mention it but Trude does look really cool as a Swordmaster but the chance of actually seeing that is quite slim. His low PCC isn't the worst thing in the world since he means he prefers Silver Swords and Brave Swords over Killing Edges but it still isn't ideal. At least Nihil protects against Wrath and bypasses Pavise and Miracle which are nice, but gets one upped by the Mareeta Sword having Nihil built in. Probably not worth the investment of a Master Seal but was fun to think about. Thanks to Paragon mode, she can get 40 exp per dance with the Paragon Sword so that is a lot of opportunity to gain HP and help her fatigue situation. Related to that, if the Paragon Sword is close to breaking, you might as well have Lara hang on to it for the boost in exp for dancing. I will always recommend players to try and use Dew since if he is well trained, he can effortlessly steal money and that can really help out your whole army. I can see a case for both Dew and Patty considered some of the best thieves in the series. Daisy not as much because, yikes, those stats, but she is still important for a substitute run since that extra money goes a long way. Problem with capturing that Sleep Sword dude is he has Miracle so even someone like Deen will struggle to capture and maybe in danger of getting put to Sleep as well. Brave Sword Trude might have a use here if he has been raising his con. That does suck since you probably want to Thief staff the Vouge from the Berserker since capturing a Berserker is super dangerous with them having Wrath but I guess for both of those dudes, you can use a Sleep staff. Tina is uniquely strong with her buff stealing before Nergal introduced Essence Drain so she wasn't the only one who could do it but it was still useful. That snake is impossible to kill and Tina can't steal her buffs because of one of the effects of that buff. If there was ever a reason to quit playing FEH, it is her. Heather is an unit I want to try using especially on easy mode since you are drowning in BEXP on that difficulty so might as well give some to her so she can fight better. He doesn't like broken tactics that over centralise the gameplay since having more than one dancer means infinite turns if executed correctly. Playing that map without Grit would be an interesting experience. The middle CO is the one behind the power score for the original AW2 if I remember correctly and Colin is perfect for those since you can build Battle Copters and those will do a fine enough job of securing that power score after you clog the middle like you suggested. About the meteors, I think the idea behind the strategies I found and used is that we only kill what is necessary so Sturm has a much harder time to fill his bar with a strategy like that. If you are playing normally, you just hope and pray that he doesn't use it full effect by hitting a large chuck of your force and that his stat boost doesn't effect your next turn so badly. Using Sturm now feels extra special since I earned the right to use him. Will be looking forward to chatting more about Advance Wars with that review. You know, space jet fighters wouldn't be that out of place with how absurd Innocent Sin can be with their enemies but those things you saw were some mechs that the main villains of Eternal Punishment use and they have anti-Persona powers. I do think I am done since I defeated a 200 KMH old man and got a very nice reward out of it but only having your regular attack really sucks for that place especially when the enemies get stronger but at least you can still talk to some of them and end battles that way. It is a tricky battle but my brother was probably well prepared due to the pressure of playing on Hard mode by conserving MP and making liberal use out of Chakra and Pray for healing. That and also weapons with Reprieve are great if you can't stop Mega Flare since it works like Undefeatable in the Xenoblade games. We will see how he takes on those challenges and the remaining bosses of Hard mode are probably going to be interesting as well.

an interesting chapter for story and of to Gameplay; a good background to listening to as i hunt Ho-Oh i never fully committed to a Shiny Hunt on a Shiny Legendary and to be a Box Art of a Game i played as a Child growing up is fitting; not sure of a Nickname as normally i don't use Legends or Mythicals in a Playthrough but this is an Exception

I feel like once you do the warp strats on this map, this map feels like a glorified playable cutscene. Also the fact that Perne has all these dancers in the fortress just rubs me the wrong way. Speaking of, Perne: Even if he is a morally bankrupt one he is undeniably a fun one to use as a unit and he did have his EXP climb later in the game for me and not exactly early on in his time. That 25% move again stuff was pretty key in some chapter strategies. Dancer Lara: Didn’t bring her to every map once she got to this point thanks to fatigue shenanigans or if the map looked like it was siege weapon city but dancer yay. Although the next time I try this game I would like to have the most niche stuff in my final army and that includes rouge Lara so combined with the two other rouge options being morally bankrupt makes me want to try rouge Lara next playthrough. Tina: Another one where I didn’t use her until later in the game and I think I had to feed her magic rings by that point but I did do the typical certain cheese that everyone memes a certain boss for with her. Trude: Never saw usage but is a prime candidate for being in my potential 2nd playthrough where I pick the most niche character stuff I deem.

Trude is a solid niche unit. He's not bad at all. Also yeah it's weird he has so many Dancers, but I don't think they're like... slaves or abused or anything.

Yeah it did that for part of Perne's bio, not sure why.

Dancers aka the unit that just amazing in almost all games expect in fire emblem awakening where you wanted more pair juggernauts where the emeny army is being magnet to them rather and oliva can be ruined that if she close to emeny range.
@TheJaredPunch8 күн бұрын
Seadall IMO feels like the best dancer by way of the Emblem mechanics. Even if you won’t use Seadall for fighting, you can use various Emblem Skills and mechanics to make him a better support, Sigurd (and Camilla) give Seadall more movement. Even if Corrin isn’t a good Emblem to use in Combat, Quality Time gives Seadall more healing properties and Pair Up can protect him from Chain Attacks. But my favorite way to use Seadall is to use Lucina is Qi Adept Bonded Shield.
@starmaker758 күн бұрын
@@TheJaredPunch I give Seadall Sigurd as canto is great for dancer. Even without emblem, Seadall has fist weapons for breaks as well.

One time I tried to play this map legit, without Warp. It... wasn't fun. Instead of a breather, I got swarmed by strong reinforcements. The kicker is that there's a dancer in a 1-tile corridor, so you either kill it and get the items from the thieves but miss out on the Knight's Proof + Warp Staff, or you sit around fighting reinforcements and getting fatigued for 30 turns and get the items from the dancers. At that point I just said fuck it. I wish that little weird side-objective allowed you to capture the dancers.
@dryzalizer8 күн бұрын
Yeah from what I recall these thieves/reinforcements are beefy and fast.
@BigKlingy8 күн бұрын
The Dancer thing is weird because a similar side objective in Chapter 18 DOES let you capture and release the enemies you have to spare.

I actually never got thrude because I tought he was a mini boss and I should kill kim haha thanks for the video. I love your unit bios

So apparantly i missed troude...... Welp thats another reset I really need to read thracia info websites more Especially since i already know of a certain general and now i have to reset WHOLE or keep playing with what i have and then try again(ill probably do this because i want to get that ending)

I think you forgot to cover Salem's Bio?
@wolfherojohnson27668 күн бұрын
He covered it at the end of last chapter
@jaredfayette25678 күн бұрын
Klingy covered it at the very end of the last video. Seemed like he was going to do it here, but then decided last minute to talk about Salem at the end to be consistent with talking about units you need to capture and hold onto to recruit (like with Lifis after beating 2x and now with Trude here). Hope that helps.
@BigKlingy8 күн бұрын
If you see someone's picture in a thumbnail it means their bio is in the video. I know I jumped the gun on Salem but I wanted to treat him like Lifis and give his in the chapter where he's the boss.
