I love how the archers just yeet a bunch arrows like they're fireworks or smth before shooting the enemy, think it's one of my fave specials. Also somehow Mercedes still sounds like she's handing you a glass of milk after reading you a bedtime story despite her actually launching herself up in the air and shooting an arrow from the sky into the enemy, I kinda like that about her.

Kinda bizarre how certain characters lose their unique skills upon reaching their last class. Like why does Rodrigue lose his special upon become a holy knight? It's already a big holy explosion. His situation isn't even like Dedue or Ashe where they are on foot for most of their classes til they get a horse (though they should have a unique horse special too IMO)

Another thing that annoys me about Dedue’s situation is that when he appears as an enemy great Knight he is wearing his personal armour but when you actually using him the game doesn’t allow that. It especially sucks because his personal armour is awesome while the generic great Knight armour looks terrible.

Same with Ferdinand. He has his classic “I am Ferdinand von Aegir” quote as a paladin or cavalier, but not as any of the master cavalry classes.

I hope maybe as dlc, we can customize what type of specials we could use. Like lysitheas or Hubert’s special as a dark mage/bishop for our main character.

And Hero and Lord. Hero’s been datamined so either abandoned or DLC. Judith is a Lord, though that might end up just being a Merc rename.

@@bencomer2339 Feel like it was abandoned but it also could just be that they didn’t include it because it wasn’t finished. You can tell it’s supposed to be in the game because Holst’s design is based on the Hero class.

War Cleric is sorely needed to allow female characters to brawl because let’s be real no one is going to put them back into fighter for that. Also the lack of Valkyrie and Dark Flyer is a bummer I feel like Hapi and Constance kind like of lost some of their identity in this game as a result.

I also think making dark Knight a Lance class was stupid since in three houses it was literally a mage with more mobility. It should have been a mounted tome user that played sort of like Leo and Elise. Holy Knight is Knight is fine though even if some characters like Ferdinand going into it feels a bit weird.

but for some unknown reason he didnt get his unique special for Holy Knight, its locked for Paladin. Same goes to Lorenz, he's supposed to be a Dark Knight canonically but his unique special is locked to Paladin

from what I can tell, for some ungodly reason, Dark/Holy Knights generic warrior special overrides EVERY unique cavalry special

@@gypsysprite4824 Unique special are linked to a class moveset. The cavalier/paladin have different moveset than the Dark/Holy knight so they lost their unique special. And Yes that dumb, they should at least let us choose wich special we want to use.

because Holy/Dark Knight overwrite all Cav/Paladin warrior specials. you literally have to demote Jeralt to see his special

Has anyone confirmed rather or not these are inherently weaker than a character's Unique Warrior Special? I don't really want to miss out on more damage from not having a character in their "preferred class".

I don't know about that but that's why I keep them in there preferred class just in case I unlock other classes and use training ground to train them for abilities

theyre not necessarily weaker but the preferred classes simply have extensions. it really depends on the stats of the characters if a class is weaker like low str on a melee class

I don't think it's weaker or better but it will affect the reach of your character. For example, Dorothea's warrior special as a warlock will mainly make her attack in front of her whereas her unique warrior special (gremory) makes her attack all foes around her

The only noticeable example I’ve seen of it really affecting α certain character is Sylvain, due to his unique ability. His personal Warrior Special racks up α lot more hits than when he becomes α Dark/Holy Knight.

Have you looked at dismounted classes? Pretty sure Great Knight is Fortress Knight, Peg fliers are soldiers and Cavs are soldiers but unsure on holy or dark knight.

Holy and Dark Knights just become soldiers again. All of the mounted classes just become their foot versions that preceded them.
