Fire in the Mountains - U.S. Trailer

In northern India, a breathtakingly beautiful Himalayan community attracts tourists by commingling South Asian and Swiss Alps aesthetics. Debut filmmaker Ajitpal Singh tells an unconventional story of feminist strength while “accentuating the [region’s] spectacular exteriors and wide-canvas nature shots” (Variety). One local woman competes with her neighbors for business while battling the strictures of patriarchy, a local infrastructure from hell, and religious superstitions. She saves money, uses feminine wiles to subvert the corrupt powers-that-be, and piggy-backs her son up and down the mountainside to medical appointments with condescending doctors. In the end, our heroine’s tightly wound grit must find release… in triumph, or madness, or both.

Dear majorsmith , first of all don't be so proud of your pahadi language. The hills is in fire more than Terai and it's people like you busy with language dispute. The main core issue behind pahadi deconstructive is because the tribal religion we are following. I feel ashamed to be even called myself a bhramin , whenever I use to go to Western World. The main problem I see is we indian as a society are very tribal in Culture. We don't value Rationalism but we do value our so called caste system religion that only effecting we the people but also effecting our brain drain Crisis in India . ...... All I wana say . Even thou I was a pahadi or something called bhramin but now I don't wana live with this fake life tagged as bhramin. Our nation literally runs through constitution, and that same constitution was brought back from the Western European society. Do you guys even know , how Europeans had go through all the wars and had sacrificed just for the constitution that value Evey men and female as equal. I don't see anything happening in REST OF WORLD unless Western world.
