Fire Island is a unique place for sure.. but i'd skip most of my NY stuff if i were you, it's really just some local stuff that is sort of redundant... i got a good backpacking video and another desert trip coming up soon...

COMEDY- Rox and i kinda laugh at how much they are Not worth compared to CA beachfront.. the nicest homes here are like 2-5 million. Malibu starts at 10 million... it is nice on fire island but only in summer... COLD and empty in winter..

true for sure. im glad i can appreciate looking at them without getting jealous, i just like looking at them.. what is neat is the way the places are rented in "shares", if you really want to go, you could find a way ot afford it- the regular family type towns only rent whole houses.. two of my friends just paid $5000 to rent a house for one week! they split the bill and had 2 families there but still a lot of money for one week

That is a lot of money! But you know...it makes me think of dollar figures I've heard celebrities paying for rental houses, or hotels, etc., and those are truly mind boggling figures that just don't make sense.

and here i just did 3 nights in the desert where i didnt even have to pay for a campsite.. crazy what people will pay for a place to sleep...

well it is possible to rent short term or stay in a hotel for not too much, or just make a day trip of it like i do... but yes, overall you need a lot of money to go here
