Thanks for the advice :), at low levels some of the spells in the fire mage tree don't make nearly as much sense without seeing the actual rotation.

My initial rotation is "Pyro, Fireball, living bomb, flame orb, combustion. if you're gear is good enough to be worried about the dps then either your pyro or fireball should be critting and an "opportune" moment has presented itself literally as SOON as the fight starts. and youre not watching a silly addon hoping for three green #s. I will say i'm glad you are not popping mirror prior to your first cast, and having them stand there doing nothing :) lol

Buy the glyph in an Auctionhouse for 'Mirror Image' and add it into your glyph setup for the fire talents.

Agree, Scorch's ignite procs simply do not do enough dmg, especially if you're looking for a decent combustion.

y. i thought this too. I think it's better to use Combustion with 2 dots each cd (1.17 or smth) than wait 2 minutes for "the best situation" which *can* give kinda 6k damage (not dps!) more. Especially when u can't fully control those dots (like on warlock for instance) because they actually proc. Thus this addon is not bad, and i say rather helpful to *understand* how fire mage works, but it won't do everything for you :)

You can scorch weave if you are having mana issues but since 4.0.6 came out fire mages Fire ball now costs 9% instead of 15% mana.. scorch weave is 3 scorches to 2 fb's

impact is the way to spread the dot, but if you are having issues proc'ing hot streaks.. using blast on CD isnt bad

Start with Pyroblast, not scorch - it adds the debuff as well..

the stat priority has been mathematically calculated and tested in practice to the enth degree, so it's not a passing opinion that haste is better than crit, it's a proven fact.....good vid other than that

I've been wondering about moving to cancel in order to refresh Living Bomb or to use the free Pyroblast proc. Based on your movements you actually stop casting in order to prioritize those two events? I'm guessing you're going to also move to stop casting to use flame orb also.

eh ... I was getting at the fact that i thought the images get a snapshot of your stats as you summon them ... so it would be better to pop stuff before you bring out the images so they are stronger ... because i thought i heard you say to use MO then pop whatever else you have ... i was thinking that everything should be up before you get the images out unless i am just totally missing something

I'm not seeing that at all ... and just some food for thought, using scorch for a main filler nuke makes you rely more heavily on pyroblast! crits for a big ignite for combustion.

nope scorch is less dps. it should be used while moving or when knocked back.

This "combustion helper" is killing mage DPS across the board from what ive seen. In this video you start your dps rotation at 1:45 and don't use your combustion until more than a minute later... Especially with the mage 4 set bonus this is a huge dps loss and waiting for the "opportune" moment to use combustion is not worth it, as you can see even with the addon, you're opporune momment still only had it doing 6k which is low.

Thanks for the effort but I personally did not find it helpful at all. You're supposed to use scorch as a filler, not fireball.

Scorch is never a filler. You, are incorrect, Ignite is the reason you use fireball, your "scorch" crits are little baby #s compared to a fireball crit's Ignite dmg. and if you're ignite is garbage then you're combustion will be garbage. And if you're Ignite, Combustion and scorch's are all itty bitty baby dmg then you're overall dps... will be garbage. lol sorry mate, scorch is used for movement or to provoke a Pyro! if you really need one. check your #'s :)
