I really appreciate this video, thanks for making it. I've only been playing Ascension for a couple of weeks, but I'm so deeply addicted to it now. They're doing so many things (like especially the prestige re-rolling of your character) that I'd always wished retail wow would do. Anyway, great information in this vid, I've learned a few things that I can now apply to my character.

Addons: I prefer the different bags so I can separate quest items, items i wanna hold and vender trash. I just rebind F11 to "open or close all bags" and press F11 to open all my bags at once. Also while you are at it rebind the tilta ` key below esc key to "autorun" and rebind Num Lock to "Follow Target" Rebind your Camera zoom to Shift + Mousewheel and put your shield spells or escape spells onto mousewheel up or down. Having blink set to Mousewheel up or Hunter Jump set to mousewheel down feels amazing.

Liked your video, still going to try this private server.. a little concerned as all of the forum talks about is griefing and toxic environments. That's exactly why I'm looking to get away from Blizzard WoW, so much of a toxic community that I don't even join guilds, attend raids and very rarely even group for non-heroic 5 man dungeon content. To be fair most the toxic commentary isn't even directed at ME, but I'm still sympathetic to the fact that could be some young kid just learning to play, or a casual player that just logged on for some downtime after a rough day at work, or a mom just getting a break from the kiddos for a bit... it's just getting so old, I'm hoping Ascension is a relief from that.

I'm hoping someone can answer my little questions lol. I played WoW on an off for 12 years, lost interest in the 'retail' a while back and was playing classic. I haven't played for about 18 months now as I don't want to pay a sub for an 'old' game. Anyway, my play style was always casual and pretty much solo. I'm not anti-social, I just level realllly slowly and kinda do my own thing. I wanted to know how casual friendly this Project Ascension is? Is it a game I can play solo? Is the questing any good? Is there crafting? Can I just go crazy and create a character pulling all my favourite bits from the different classes I've played? Basically, I want to have the WoW experience I loved with, the questing, the crafting, the exploring etc. but with the freedom to create a character that was unique. I never really got into raiding, did a few dungeons here and there and a bit of PvP but I was mostly into the levelling, crafting and exploration (I know I sound boring lol). Is the way I play WoW suitable for Project Ascension or it is more for the 'hardcore' players?

As mostly a solo player myself, I've been able to find some guilds that allow me to join their weekly raids as I want, while I do my crafting and building. You can definitely enjoy the game as a solo. The questing is about the same as normal WoW with some added quests for world-forged mystic enchants (on Area 52) and some of those still exist for skill cards on the seasonal server. Also, there's daily profession quests to keep your crafting relevant. Other players will pay good money for the items to do their dailies.

Money is quickest, sure. But I recommend using the prestige currency. You get 100 each time you prestige and more for the daily quest turn in. IIRC the open world one was 200-300. Also, I bought a few at the end of the season when I had nothing else to do with marks of ascension, but I don’t recommend using them for that normally.

Is there a good addon that changes your selected target highlight? I remember back in the day you could use addon to change the little selection circle under peoples feet into a big arrow above the character so you can easily see who you have selected on the battlefield

They all get reset when you prestige. The card system is your “lock in” for abilities and talents. The rest is RNG and why we keep grinding!

Just fyi, these skill cards you recommend, (auto shot, hunters mark, aspect of the hawk and serpent sting) are not included in the cards you get from the start as you say. I just started the game and I dont have them.

From the comments in Discord, it seems they’re available after you prestige the first time. So you’ll have to play the lock and reroll game, which is what we had to do with previous seasons and the dealer’s deck item.

What I don't understand is now when I start a new toon on Elune I can NOT use that *Dice of Destiny* to help select three starting abilities. Now it immediately has me roll for just one and more often than not it is something VERY hard to begin with... 🎲

yeah, they made it so you get them over the first 10 levels to make it less overwhelming for newer players (supposedly). After prestige it goes back to picking 4 at lvl 1 if I understand correctly.

Probably already figured it out by now, but they changed it to get your abilities progressively through level 10, but I heard you can roll 4 at lvl 1 again once you prestige. Haven’t prestiged myself yet since the changes.

A couple points of order: EVERY season is wildcard and all your seasonal characters go to A52 at the end of a season. A52 is ALWAYS one full season behind on content And frankly, there are 100% a few things in the cash shop that you will feel horrible for not having (Like an enchanting altar and a book) And DO NOT BUY WOTLC OR COA ACCESS THE DEVS HAVE ALL BUT STOPPED WORKING ON THEM AND ARE MILKING THEM FOR EASY MONEY

I just started yesterday and to be honest I am extremely overwhelmed. I tried and watch some videos but nothing shown works for me. Starting with the skill cards. I am told you don’t own that card despite I use the starter card filter. Pretty frustrating

This is actually the motivation behind the channel. I stopped playing and picked Ascension back up after a year or 2 due to being overwhelmed. Best advice I can give is ask questions in newcomer chat, join a friendly guild, and keep checking for content here and elsewhere! I mentioned a few addons during that section if you want to go back and check it out. I recommend Bartender, Xperl and Bagnon. Those will give you customization over your action bars, party/target frames and inventory window, respectively. By default it should be a cleaner look, but you can get into the settings to customize. These aren't Ascension specific, so you can find resources on how to do that online. Hope that helps!

Are you referring to crypto or the fact that you have to buy Donation Points (DP)? There are other payment options if you want to spend money. Check the tabs above the payment window and you may have to do some account verification before you can see them.

STOP! DON'T DO IT! AHHHHH!!. If you have a passion for PvP, you may not want to start to play this game. The vast amount of additional spells and enhancement and the fact that all class spells are available to you making an even greater daunting task, but here is the worst part, the pvp community is very small and there is only one pvp dev and he is very body body with the very top players, which are not very many, but there is a bit of bias as to what gets buffed or nerfed, melee gets a lot of, lets say, mercy. If you start out as a caster, you will very quickly understand what I am talking about.
