Your video has a 1980s look. Thanks for your review. I was considering the G3 before watching this

While not UL, a MSR Whisperlite Universal fits perfectly in the G2. Thanks for the video, especially the wind test.

Thanks Jon, I was curious about the G-2 pot and the new GreenPeak ll stove also. I don’t need the extra capacity of the G-2 pot so I’ll stick with my Petrel G-3 with my GreenPeak stove. Been using that combo at least twice a week for day hike coffee for about six months, no problems. The GreenPeak stove still lights on the first click every time. This is in moderate weather in the Sacramento area.

I really like the new Fire Maple GreenPeak II stove (Auto-ignition & pressure regulated). To me, it is pretty much on par with the Soto WindMaster, I think that the attached pot support arms are a plus. The only problem with teh GreenPeak II is that is does not fit on the G3, only the G2. For the G3, the Fire Maple GreenPeak is fine, I just prefer regulated stoves as the heat output is much easier to control. The Fire Maple Polaris is also a great stove. My 2 cents.

Some strange high frequency sound exists. Microphone? Or some kitchen electrical device is not ok?

Some problem between the software and the wireless mic system: could be interference withthe LED lights. It's probably above 10kHz: I can't hear it (old dude). UPDATE: I just found some low pass filters and they seem to being to job. I am going to implement them on my videos going forward. Thanks all!

Thank you for the excellent video. The wind effect is interesting. You mentioned several pots that outperform the G2 and G3 from other makes and from Fire Maple - what were the makes and models, and in what order would you rank them? Where do the Fire Maple FMC-XK6 1L and Feast K2 1.5L fall in the ranking?

I have found that the Sterno Inferno (obsolete) is the best. The WideSea and Fire Maple 1 liter HX mug work better as well. Keep in mind that these statements are only for calm conditions. The Petrel family is still better in high winds. My 2 cents.

@@FlatCatGear Thank you. Do you happen to know the weight of the G2 which holds 1L without the lid? I have a 3L HX pot for winter, but for 3 season use I'm always wondering if a 750ml-1L HX pot will be worth the fuel saved over my non-HX 550, 750, 900 ml and 1L pots + a good windscreen, like a Flat Cat screen : ) My 900 and 1L non-HX pots are fairly wide.

@@leigha6275 about 4.8 oz without the lid.

@@FlatCatGear Thanks, that's quite reasonable, especially if you make your own Ti foil lid

You mentioned the heavy lid. Do you think any of the titanium lids from Four Dog Stoves would fit the G2? Does the Ocelot 6 Universal work with that larger pot? You mentioned the Ocelot 6 specific to the Pocket Rocket Deluxe.

You can get a replacement lid from Dutch Gear that weighs only 18 g. (dutchwaregear.com/product/imusa-pot-lids/). You would want the 12 cm one; this will cut the weight down by about 30 grams. The Petrel G2 will fit on the Ocelot 6 for the Pocket Rocket, it will also fit on teh Ocelot 6 for teh Soto WindMaster 4 Flex, however; the mug will sot on top of teh pot support arms and not in the slots. The Ocelot Universal will work if you stove isn't too tall: the Soto WinMaster is too tall for the Universal.
