Fire maple petrel ultralight pot with heat exchanger and the Hornet 11 stove also from Fire maple. The best pot I have used so far for a quick boil time. With the added safety feature, of hot liquids being less likely to unbalance on the stove top.

Hi and welcome back to Hike and Seeker channel.
In today's episode, I want to share with you my thoughts on the Fire maple ultralight cooking pot with heat exchanger. I really do think this pot is the one I have been looking for. The design for me is second to none. If I do have any reservation, it is the fact that I haven't tested it over a long period of time.
The slots that the stove fits into, while giving a better boil time, also enhance the safety of the pot balance. Giving me more confidence when dealing with hot liquids, than I have had before. Overall a great pot at a realistic price.
Stay safe out there, and I'll see you on the next episode!

Thank you for the review, I am from Brazil, it is very hard to get good gear. I bought the petrel pot after watching your video and loved it! Keep up the good work!

I bought a Petrel too. Turns out that it actually holds 800 ml, even though its advertised as 600 ml. I use it with the Soto Windmaster tri-flex.

Thanks for the comment. I think I did say that the 600 ml mark on the pot is down from the top. I assumed that was to prevent boil over. Your right though it does hold 800 mils total.

The soto windmaster fits into the bottom completely making it more stable and wind proof.

Thanks for the comment. I have heard that the Soto windmaster fits well. You have confirmed that. Another new stove for me !

Will a one prong work with this pot

I'm not quite sure what your asking. The pot can sit on any stove, as all hiking stoves have at least three or four prongs for necessary balance. If the prongs fit into the slots then you have more safety, with less chance of knocking the pot over. If you balance the pot on the stove without using the slots it will still boil water etc. Not so efficiently though in my opinion.
