Wondering if this'll fit into a Gsr pouch or if it's a rocket job... Is that neoprene sleeve removable? If I cook on gas I sit on the downwind side, firstly you get a bit of heat and secondly it also helps stop food smells from giving you away 😉
@MCMOutdoors10 ай бұрын
The sleeve is removable yes; dimensions should be on the website so hopefully it fits in what you need it to!
@OldNavajoTricks10 ай бұрын
@@MCMOutdoors Cool, so it's firefriendly in a pinch, good to know thank you 👍 Should fit into the Gsr nicely too.

The gas canister looks taller than the one they want you to use .Can you tell me what gas canister you are using
@MCMOutdoors11 ай бұрын
You can use any screw fitting gas...... It's just a standard Coleman version
@dlear852 жыл бұрын
I'm confused by all the stoves. Are the standard ones less controllable and not as good for cooking?
@MCMOutdoors2 жыл бұрын
Not really, they all vary to a degree in terms of flame control. These type of stoves are really designed for fast boiling of water - so dehydrated meals and the likes are great with this kit.

Ah ok I was looking at them for camping use as well as eventually hikes once kids are a bit bigger. Can they manage basic cooking or just burn food. Thanks for reply
@MCMOutdoors2 жыл бұрын
Basic as in heating tinned food just about, but they do get very hot spots on the base so it's a fine art

What's the main differences between the Polaris, X2 and X3 ?. They all seem exactly the same to me
@MCMOutdoors Жыл бұрын
X3 is slightly bigger and has more power (0.8L / 2200w)

My only concern is the flimsy looking wire knob for turning on/ turning down the gas I would like that to be a more solid feature. The colour of the stove would be better in a camouflage colour The lid could have more small holes in it to drain water (for pasta). other than that a great piece of kit that I would gladly try out.
@MCMOutdoors2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching - the knob for the gas is very sturdy - I think it's built like that to save weight and there are many similar designs out there. I guess the colour is subjective - thanks for watching Terry 👍

There's quite a few type of these stoves but the regulator types are so much better as for boil times there pretty much all in the same ball park 20 seconds difference doesn't matter some don't lock as good but there's always the price question I've got the jetboil micro mo which wasn't that cheap but i really like it fire maple alpkit or a few others are cheaper I do like the blue colour tho
@MCMOutdoors2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, they're pretty similar but I agree - the regulated burner does make a difference.

Nice stove, fast and adjustable too.....i am not a fan of the jet boil because that amount of bulk just to be able to boil water and burn food doesnt have any appeal, i had a first generation one before they found every excuse in the world to reinvent it to suit people who get a bone on for saving a few seconds here and there......if seconds mattered that much when you are outdoors people need to hit themselves over the head with a sledge hammer ....i have got the MSR Wind burner because at my age every second counts ...wheres mi mallet :)
