Back in Tamilnadu we celebrate "Pillaiyar Noonbu" i.e., Lord Ganesh Vratham. On this day we offer sweets prepared using jaggery, sesame, peanuts & ghee. We offer all to Lord Ganesh & rend tamil poetry on him. Then eldest of our family would give a sweet prepared using jaggery, rice flour & ghee. This is lite like a lamp & we have to swallow it i.e., along with the fire. This Fire Pani Puri is also from such concept. Haribol !!!
