On this day in 1973 {June 30th} "Hello Stranger" by Fire and Rain entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 for a three week stay; and during those three weeks it remained at position #100... Ten years earlier in 1963 Barbara Lewis released the original version & was also the composer; she entered the Top 100 on May 4th, 1963 and eventually it peaked at #3. And on July 6th, 1963 it peaked at #1 {for 2 weeks} on Billboard's Hot R&B Singles chart. In 1977 Yvonne Elliman cover it; her version reached #15.
