Fire has developed a lot over the series. In the start I really liked him but after episode 10 I don't really like him anymore... hehe...
My Pride The series follows Nothing a disabled lioness and her life.

Farleap made it clear that the only reason she didn’t like Nothing was because Nothing got more attention from Powerstrike; but based on her behavior in episode 7 we can infer that she feels bad about bullying her and possibly liked her as a person this whole time, but pushed that down with her feelings of resentment.

I haven't see anyone say this yet...but Spark seems to be like Feather. When Fire says he wouldn't play a game with Nothing because lionesses are too weak...and Spark says she's just trying to be nice and doesn't break the rules. I feel like if he had lived, Spark would have been an a protective and loving brother.

This makes me realise the lionesses are treated in a pretty fucked up way. They're not supposed to love their manes and wordlessly accept any new one that comes along. They're not to get attached to their cubs because woops, new mane coming along and your cubs have to die now. They're essentially used as breeders, caretakers and food providers. Even Fire shows his less than equal view to Nothing. He says to her she'll feel better when she's calmed down after he has just killed her friend, who she considered a brother. it sickeningly reminds me of the scene in 12 Years a Slave when a new woman is bought but her children weren't. She is crying and screaming in grief and her new masters just tell her "she'll feel better after some food and sleep". Their feelings weren't considered real feelings just like the lionesses aren't.

@@teacoon6399 I have to say that actually in real life, the new dominant male lion doesn't always kill the cubs if their mother's or lioness' won't let them or if they are old enough to stay. But those cubs will always have a low rank in the pride cuz they are not the bloodline of their new dominant male. My pride has more cruel way of pride laws than in real life, even tho some of them makes sense in real life too.

See, bad people can come in any form, and it’s never black and white, he was a supportive brother that did care for his sister, although his more desperate actions are what make him very different from nothing, as she will stand for good even if it means death, as fire will throw away his morals in order to survive, so he puts on a friendly face as long as you are not between him and survival.

I've been recapping lots. And I've found that Fire actually owes Nothing a life debt. When the cubs were younger, they were attacked by Quickmane, right? Well, just because Fire ran and got their mother doesn't mean he would've lived past cubhood. Pridelaw says kill all cubs that are not your blood. So, if Nothing wouldn't have bested Quickmane then they would both be dead because they wouldn't have a right to the pride. Fire barely did anything by getting their mother. I've also recapped on mane and nomane fights that have happened. Starmane easily killed Embermane in a 1v1 battle. Then Starmane was easily killed in a 1v1 battle by Quickmane. Then he was easily killed by Proudmane. You see the pattern? It's all about who gets the first bite, and who gets who in the right place. Fire would've died if feather wasn't there to get Barkmane off. He would've also died if It wasn't for Proud attacking Quickmane. Yeah, Fire is weak. I've also seen that xD

Just to point out a couple flaws... Saying Fire barely did anything by getting their mother is fallacious, when they both helped to save each other’s lives. Nothing of course did the grunt work, and made sure of the place they had in the pride, but what makes you think Quickmane would’ve just stopped what he started? He was a malicious lion who hated Nothing from the start, he would’ve eagerly finished her off for taking his eye, and to solidify his position. By getting their mother, Fire attracted Quick’s attentions from her to them, saving Nothing from getting killed. Also, saying Fire is weak is just silly. He’s a young male lion, going up against fully mature adult males. When Quick went after him his mane was still small, indicating he’s about 2-3 years old, while Quick was probably around 7, though all lions manes grow at different rates. Point being, of course Quick would’ve won against a young adult. And as for the fight with Barkmane, he was already a humongous lion. So despite being more mature, he still picked a fight with a lion even Quick or Proud would have trouble with. His problem isn’t being weak, he bites off way more than he can chew. I mean, Hell, look at Simba. He was knocked to the ground by a starving scrawny lion and only won by kicking him over the cliff for the hyenas to finish off, and in the second movie he’s flung a good few feet just from one smack from a lioness. Yet he’s the symbol of power. I’m not too thrilled with Fire either, but I understand why he did the things he did. Hunger drove him to madness, to a breaking point that made him kill Tangle. He attacked and “killed” Feather to prove himself to his pride. He attacked Nothing because he didn’t want to give in to his sister and be bested by a lioness in front of his pride. There’s reasons to what he does, and making baseless accusations aren’t going to help in the long run of explaining why he’s a bad character to you.

Just because Quickmane was distracted by Powerstrike for the moment doesn't mean pridelaw doesn't take order in killing the cubs. Sister 1 and sister 2 were killed by Proud, yet Waterhunter was right there. Nothing proved they were able to stay. If she didn't, pridelaw takes over in the end, Powerstrike or not. I do however agree with you in the Fire is weak. I get why that statement is wrong now. I thought about Fire being a bad character ofc, but in the end he's just part of the system. Like Fire said, "This is just what pride law demands. You know that." He's not COMPLETELY in the wrong but I still changed my opinions about him. He did call Nothing a pathetic little curse when that was un-necessary. He may not be weak, but he's made mistakes. I could go on and on about My pride stuff, I love talking about this. If it wasnt for her ptsd I feel like she would have easily defeated him. For example, when Fire said that she was nothing but a curse she froze in place and that's when he attacked. If it wasnt for that scene then she might have dodged his attack and kept fighting him although I don't think she would have killed him (because that's her brother of course). Also it's not about lioness being weak they can be as strong as a no mane and can survive just like them to. I feel like no matter who you are in the my pride universe as long as your strong then you can win in a life and death battle. This can be shown by Hover since she was prideless and living on the stretch.

I know it might be a red herring that fire is lite but I really like the idea that every life time/reincarnation, theres a different type of relationship between kyoga(idk how to spell her name lol) and lites souls . First it was a "lovers" relationship, In the last life maybe it was a parent and a child, and now it's two siblings.

So a couple of things I could see Fire’s character are going one of two ways. 1: Once the whole goddess drama is ironed out he might have finished up a redemption arc. although even if Nothing and Feather do forgive him. I doubt they’ll ever be able to fully trust him again. Or 2: Right now he’s being driven by fear and he’ll soon be driven by anger and hate as well like lite And sadly become more and more crazy. I had a feeling he would give into temptation as we’ve been constantly shown Pride Law is bad. and now you see how it’s changed Fire for the worst. But I was hoping Feather would just leave and say he can have it and strike out on his own with Nothing Leaving to stay with him soon after but that was Honestly a very scary and impressive Bait and Switch well done. Also I think Episode 9’s Thumbnail is being all Tetsuya Nomura sneaky like where it’s a hint in plain sight It’s a picture of fire with some kind of Gold Sun diagram behind him. And it’s saying yeah he’s Lite’s incarnation. And he does fit the Bill He’s probably been abused by Quickmane just as much as nothing just as much as a Lost his father and brother his mother turned on him. Him visiting Nothing ended in disaster. (Which makes me wonder if he low-key always hated Feather.) and Quickmane was able to find him and attempted to kill him! But interestingly enough while that was happening proud managed to sneak up on him so he could very well have been cursed like nothing was as well. And finally it’s implied that him and tangle had a much more miserable time in the stretch than nothing and feather did Is that me said if I’m right what does that make you proud is he just an aggressive stickler for the rules? Also I have a feeling fire’s new pride is going to abuse the hell out of him. In fact Moonstrike might’ve been suspicious about how Barkmane lost. Having been mates for so long she might know him enough to know that it would take at least two or three lions to take him down. And as a result was being difficult because well yeah they didn’t technically defeat him in honorable combat. What anybody else want them to say hey we were really impressed with you nothing would you like to be our female mane

Anyone notice how long he stayed near Feather after biting him? We already know that Fire can bite hard enough to kill an adult male. Plus we know they don't have to move their mouths to talk. And since Feather got away afterwards (it's in the scene after credits) I'm thinking that Fire intentionally didn't kill, but hurt Feather. Then told him to stay down then run. This would let his sister stay and give Feather a chance. I'm probably wrong but I'm going to hold onto this until the next episode. Whenever that is

Fire's development is honestly sad to me. He was a little rude and bratty as a cub, but that didn't mean he didn't love his sister. He was happy to see that she was alive when she got knocked unconscious by Quickmane, he was evidently saddened to leave her at the Sister's Steppe when he was exiled, he was proud to introduce her to his friends, and he was happy to see her when they reunited afterwards. He was even glad that there were no cubs in Barkmane's pride because he didn't like hurting cubs! But over time, probably due to all he went through on the Stretch, he began to put having a pride and being a leader over his own sister and his own cousin. And in the end, his greed and selfishness took control of him and consumed him, most likely causing him to lose his life at the claws of Moonstrike and her huntresses.

You know, I feel like Fire really did love his sister, and I think he really didn't want to fight her, but Nothing also pushed him to his breaking point, (not talking about him almost killing Feather). Because even after him and Nothing were done fighting, he said: "that doesn't mean I don't love you". Even tho what Fire did was wrong, I still think he found it in himself to love his sister.

I guess this really does show that he originally doesn’t think of lionesses anymore of just caring for young and hunting together. But when Nothing attacked a no mane, he saw her as something. Then when she no longer could off that something for him, he turned away showing that all along he didn’t really care, he just used her.

fire is the BEST character. he isn’t black and white “bad and good”. he’s in between. he thinks what he’s doing is the right thing, even though it isn’t. he’s not a mary sue “all good” character. and he’s not a super villain either. he’s trying his best, even if it ,sans he has to do some bad things. he’s the most in depth, do stuff built up, changing character and it’s amazing. props to tribble for actually being able to create a character like that.

I don't see fire as bad. He did awful things, that shouldn't be forgiven, but it's clear he doesn't handle stress well. He went through a hard time and handled it poorly. I think that if he had been more comfortable he hadn't made such a poor decision. He saw his chance at a comfortable pride slipping away and didn't actually care for feather so he didn't mind trading him for security. This is not excusing his actions, but I don't think at his core he is horrible. He is young and cocky and has a lot of learning to do.

No you see quickmane was sadistic in the way he killed the cubs and starmane, he wasn't a coward. Quickmane only ever did two things that were physically cruel. One killed spark and starmane which he had to do to earn the pride, but he didn't pretend to be in the right. Second is when he goes after fire out of fear and anger for putting his son who he loves in danger. Quickmane for as awful as he is, at least isn't fake.

Now that I think about it, fire would have died if feather hadn’t jumped in. I think fire is kinda weak, (no offense to any of the fire lovers) he would have died if tangle hadn’t helped him escape. Overall, fire needs help from another lion if he wants to do something (not all the time) but the major events of nothing’s fight with fire wouldn’t have happened if feather hadn’t saved fire. I think moon strike was aware that fire didn’t win the fight with bark mane fairly (one to one combat) moon strike is a smart cookie.

I think Fire loved Nothing, but he was blinded by the will to survive. He was fed up with living on Stretch and didn't see that he could live with Nothing and Feather. He also didn't want to challenge another Mane to a duel because he was a coward. He was also evidently sorry after both Feather and Brakmane died. Especially when Nothing almost killed. So Fire loved Nothing and Feather, but was intent on his own survival, just like Proudmane. You know, over the dead to the goal. I don't like him, but I understand and appreciate what he has done for Nothing. In my opinion, he did not show his true face in episode 10, he just wanted to survive and suppress his remorse. His biggest drawback was that he was a coward.

I think something interesting is that before fire takes over the pride he makes a point of saying that they don’t have cubs so no one has to get hurt. He didn’t necessarily want to kill any cubs probably cause as a cub he almost died. But all that falls apart as the pressure from pride law comes in. He keeps looking back at the huntresses before his actions he feels like he has to prove to this pride that he deserves to stay there and therefor answers with aggression killing feather and growling at ghost. He’s doing what light would do. When faced with a situation he doesn’t like when he feels desperate even if there are better options he will choose anger and violence

I actually don’t hate Fire. I have a theory that shortly before he killed Tangle, he developed mental illnesses such as Intermittent Explosive Disorder (where he keeps having angry outbursts or becoming violent when even he doesn’t expect it, and has no control) and Bipolar Disorder (judging by how he’s either sad, shocked, scared, or angry) and shows that he refuses to accept the fact that his mental health is decreasing rapidly by doing things such as lying about the cause of Tangle’s death and blaming the fight on Nothing. I even wrote an AU (which I don’t plan on releasing to the public) that explains what happened after the pride accepted Fire as Mane (only because they felt forced), and how his mental health decreased even more rapidly, even to the point of a suicide attempt (which he survives).
