How much money do fire sprinkler fitters make on average?
@Ayoomikee Жыл бұрын
@@grattten98in nj I started out at $17 dollars @ 18 years old as a helper. Ended at $20 as a base level technician. No longer do fire sprinklers but ended on good terms with my old boss and he’d probably hire me back at $25. (Im 21 now) Guys with 10+ years experience are making 35+ an hour like my father. And union guys are getting paid $100 an hour.

How can sprinkler water be this clean ? 🤔 Usually looks more like used motor oil than "water" so to speak...
@Azndarol5 жыл бұрын
Looks like a new shell / garage. With projects like that, if the design engineer is good enough then they can have all pieces fabricated from mains to sprig ups to even ATR rod lengths with hangers. So upon delivery of said fab, there would be no need for cutting & threading. So no cutting oil lingering as well as no rust accumulation yet with new install. Just pipe dope & teflon tape for that screw pipe & grooved couplings.

@ligyron28358 ай бұрын
@@Azndarolthere is no such thing as a jobsite where pre-fabbed pipe falls out perfectly and your cutbacks will always require “cuts” hence the name. Ultimately it’s the water source and how long the system is kept under pressure that determines the water. We tie into NON-potable water supplies so it’s assumed to be dirtier to begin with but if it’s a new system it should flow relatively clean. Once the system is kept charged is when you start getting the brown stagnant water lol.

You cant have downward facing sprinklers on dry systems typically. This pipe would normally be full of compressed air.

Why the fire alarm not setting off
@tunein74562 жыл бұрын
It takes anywhere from 30-59 seconds for the alarms to go off after a head goes off.
@tunein74562 жыл бұрын
Theirs a sensor that monitors the flow of water inside sprinkler pipe. So if a head pops or breaks the fire alarms automatically goes off and calls the fire department.
@DeanieBN542 жыл бұрын
@@tunein7456 thank u man. You’re right, the back flow prevention device has a sensor on it that will immediately notify the fire department with a silent alarm as soon as there is water in flow. Though there is a way to put the system offline to test certain things, or just to flush the fire system, but judging by these guys, im sure that was never the case. There is no “testing” a fire sprinkler head. 1 time use and the companies that designed them went though countless hours of time and development to make sure you don’t have to test these things. Also the building fire alarm only goes off when activated manually or if detected smoke. Otherwise there will be no building alarm, which does make sense as an alarm is only there to evacuate people…
