This is impressive for the East Coast. The only other time I've heard of a response this widespread on the East Coast was 9/11 when companies from New Jersey were responding into New York to cover FDNY stations. Without the absolutely massive collection of gears that Cal OES has this is amazing.

I lived right in front of the highway (apartment building) there was about 50-100 trucks coming in every second, from towers, Ladders, Rescue, squad, pump, engines, mobile command just for one street. It was definitely a crazy day. But that day faith was restored. Just as the fires got worse youd see more and more fire trucks appear like angels. It was beautiful yet scary. Every second a box alarm for more help would be announced

Awesome, just awesome videos you made there! Extremly lucky to catch all those units responding and to have such a good spot to see them coming from both sides. Of course there are many units responding to such a scenario, but what I didn't understand: why are there units coming from both sides all the time, and both keep on driving until they are out of sight. Those vehicles with blue lights are somehow easier to see ...

Thanks for watching! There were dozens of reported explosions and fires going on at once, so companies were responding/clearing/being re-dispatched all the time. Do you have any further details on the incident? What exactly happened that required such a large response? We're other units responding as mutual aid to assist with other emergency calls in the area not related to the incident so that way units at the Gas Incident could continue to work?
@911ERV
@911ERV 6 жыл бұрын
Three towns had an overpressurization of the gas lines leading to multiple fires and explosions (about 70 in total). Dozens of mutual aid companies from three states responded in to both work gas-related incidents and other calls. They haven't said what exactly led to the overpressurization; the NTSB is investigating.

@EnjoyFirefighting
@EnjoyFirefighting 6 жыл бұрын
that siren's aren't necessary due to light traffic conditions doesn't mean that they don't use it anyway, that's what it seems like it in many videos from different places across the USA. To be honest I was surprised too that there are so many not using their siren. For us here it's completly normal, during the night shift I usually never use the siren (except if we are heading into the state's capital city)
@CobraEmergencyNorthAmerica

I'd be the one who sits there playing with it the entire response aha. Yeah I'm used to most US response videos, even with no traffic, they still use sirens. That's why I like buffing the US. While where I live in the UK, like EnjoyFirefighting said, it's completely normal for no siren to be used.

How come individual you see fire trucks going one way and then turn around on another way
@911ERV

There were dozens of calls doing on at once, so units were constantly clearing or being reassigned to higher priority calls.

Though there sure was a lot of action panning after each unit makes the video pretty hectic and slightly hard to watch. Maybe next time only turn your cam after the last vehicle of a convoy passed your position. Still nice to see. ;-)

Might be something to "learn" in usual situations so you're used to it when needed. Better stay calm than heat up, right? ;-)

Why were some going back the same way the others were coming? And why were they going all different directions. If they are responding to the same call? This is confusing as heck.

Multiple fires or reports of fires, gas leaks, etc. so as one unit cleared one call they were sent to another.

There were 60+ active incidents, including multiple fires, all within a four-hour period. Many of these units were from out of the region and responding in as part of two different 9-alarm mutual aid requests. Just organized chaos here.
