Thanks Chris. My old stick was giving me a crap load of hastle as i had not used the device for a long time. It was forcing me to log in to my account, but would not connect as there was no network (it was last used on an old wifi network). so this was my only choice. cant beleive they dont even allow access to network settings when doing this forced re-login to amazon

The data should remain on the external storage but you may need to reset it up to tell the Firestick where to find it again.

You can use it on another tv or projector before or after you have factory reset.

Leave it for as long as you can, there may be an issue with your firestick, if you can't get past this then I think there is a fault with you stick and it may need replacing.

You could try going to Settings then My FireTV then Reset to Factory Defaults

Hi Chris Thanks for the reply. I have tried it several times, it doen't want to reset, I have even tried using a computer, it can restart but not rest. any ideas.

@@andydempsey7297 If it’s still not resetting then I think it may need replacing you could contact Amazon for help, if they can’t fix it they may offer you a discount on a replacement.
