Interesting concept! Great idea with the self recharging and no need to take extinguishers to service companies. I wish the design more looked like a a traditional fire extinguisher though, or it had some sort of large marking indicating that it is an extinguisher. I have seen few of these in the past but didn’t realize they were true fire extinguishers. Other than that, it’s a neat product!

It’s definitely an interesting design. They do certainly have their time and place

Nice video! This is a great product! I can see where it can save companies money and its also much safer than those old extinguishers. Watching the video it also has better performance. Works like an extinguisher should so the fire goes out. My research shows this is made from engineered polymer not plastic. It's actually stronger than the rolled steel that most extinguishers are made from. It can take abuse better and won't dent which from experience is detrimental to extinguishers. Won't rust.

Very cool idea. I am going to order a couple for me to try out! Good video

Those are awesome. My only concern with them is them having a black cylinder and different head rather then the traditional red cylinder and handle. People may get confused and think it’s not a fire extinguisher if they are in a panic and don’t read the label. Otherwise, they are awesome. I love the concept.

I love when you do these fire extinguisher videos where you test them on fire.

Interesting and innovative, although I do think there should be more simplicity to the idea. Because during a fire I wouldnt want to be fiddling around with an extinguisher and pressurizing it and what not. Great video!

The unit is Nylon and during the testing at UL the units went up to nearly 1500psi so the material actually exceeded where the metal units reached

Cool idea but I think it should be completely red so it can be easily identifiable. Maybe also using metal parts would be nice to prevent damage from drops

The Engineered Poly Chassis is stronger than rolled steel and will not rust, dent and is non-conductive around electricity.

Its not. cartridge operated designs have been around for decades from Ansul including even "high hazard" variants like their Red Line models. Cartridge operated units fit a very specific & small part of the hand portable market and the small capacity and form of these DQs them from the heavy industrial customers that buy cartridge operated extinguishers.

These seem neat but my concern would be the cylinder clogging as it's not normally pressured. Even though it has the wheel there would be the likelihood especially in more humid climates that the dry chemical could have a tendency to clump or compact
@FireAlarmDude59672 жыл бұрын
Yes that is a concern. I also worry that as the unit sits for many years in the sun, the unit will bake to the point of potential failure when you suddenly pressurize it or the powder might cake due to the fact it’s not constantly charged. The wheel doesn’t really work too well, after a little bit of owning these the wheel is too hard to turn after the extinguisher has sat so you must fluff the extinguisher by turning it upside down before the wheel will spin. Either way, very interesting design

@@FireAlarmDude5967 this was tested at UL with UV lights. we passed all the same test that metal extinguishers did.

@@randyrousseau5433 And heat ? Are they sealed against humidity?
@HerpDerpNVАй бұрын
@@stevecooper2873 Nope. A well known failure point for cartridge operated extinguishers. These are also more expensive than even Amerex 10lb ABC extinguishers. The recharge kits cost about $90 too. You could just buy a new stored pressure for less than recharging this thing. If someone wants a self-serviceable cartridge extinguisher they are going to get an Ansul anyway. The cartridge operated market is almost entirely heavy industry like mining & oil/gas who is looking for 20/30lb units anyway.

Since you work with electricity, they are also non-conductive. The chassis in constructed of an engineered polymer.
