As an Archipelago player myself, I'd recommend it heavily. It's really fun especially with other people to talk to. It might look daunting at first but it's actually pretty easy to set up. And for anyone wondering, you can sync up items between Hollow Knight games (but not between other games it supports like A Link to the Past since both those games and Hollow Knight obviously have different item sets) and while it's not included by default, HKMP does indeed work with Archipelago.

thanks so much for making this, fire! my friend and I were able to actually get a randomizer going on with itemsync between the two of us this way, and getting it set up was so much easier than it was ages ago when we tried to set up multiplayer then. (of course, we both may have been WAY too optimistic in thinking that the two of us could equal one fireb0rn level of skill and could get the rando done in three hours, we STILL don't know where claw or dream nail is, but. shhh.)

Relatable. The amount of modded stuff I’ve watched on a multitude of different games (mostly Minecraft) while on console is enormous. I am lucky enough to have been able to get a PC by now (for reasons more then just gaming), but consoles will always be within me. I still feel ten times more comfortable on controller than KB&M.

ngrok is actually the best option (better than hamachi) with ngrok you're able to create a tcp tunnel and anyone can connect to it without even having to install ngrok

I wonder, if you could install a mod on one cilent to disable all enemies, and then because players can see other players, simply watch a stream of that player, that way you two can work together to defeat the enemies. Cilent 1 has no way for enemies to spawn (other than terrain dangers) Cilent 2 is what everyone sees and has enemy spawning enabled.

You can install the randomizer and choose to randomize nothing. Preset for randomized items is called "vanilla". You then continue to join the itemsync room, and make sure you turn on "Sync Vanilla Items" by clicking that setting to make it yellow, rest of the setup is as instructed in the video 👌

For some reason it won't work for me and my friend. We followed all of the steps and.. have no idea where we went wrong. -Downloaded Scarab. -Downloaded the mods listed in the video + benchwarp. -Downloaded the Lite version of the skin pack into the skins folder (same as my friend). -Had the same seed and settings. -Joined the same room. -Loaded into the game and my friend was not with me.

I used nucleus at one point with a friend because I could not get HKMP for the life of me. It was pretty good. We also did it over parsec, so it was pretty laggy.

Ah, the infamous Hamachi. i really recommend using any other guides, because Hamachi may sound easy, but it likes to disable Your actual network card (so You don't have a network access!). Hamachi should really be a lest resort because of this, it anything else didn't work.

It's the same instructions! HK mods work on PC, MacOS, and Linux. Fireb0rn's method of getting to your mods folder is also great, because it works the same for all platforms 👍

GhostHunter is a little deceiving: it specifically shows you a "ghost" of another player's enemy, as long as that enemy has been damaged at least once. If the enemy is at full health, it won't show anything. It also won't show enemies if they were damaged before you entered the room. Overall, it works best for bosses, and when players don't have very strong attacks. Note: Some people also say that they can't get it to work on the public servers, but I've tested it with no issues on them multiple times, and dunno why others do have issues.

ItemSync shares item drops, but does not make players appear on other screens. You need HKMP for that.

i also had the same issue. the first thing we tried was disabling all the mods other than HKMP, and tried to connect again and it worked. I think the issue has to do with some mods that arent multiplayer compatible
