Honestly, yeah! This game has a lot of potential! The shield and parrying, kinda reminds me of breath of the wild (IN A GOOD WAY) When you nail a parry/counter attack on an enemy, it feels so freakin good in that game. Seeing this in another game? Hell yeah!

I got to the second boss and have to say the game is fucking goated. The demo is equivalent to forgotten crossroads and the challenge boss is like False Knight. I didn't like starting the game so much because I played the demo and I was tired of the repetition of the first area, but yeah the second area I got locked tf in. The 2nd main boss is so cool. Also spam parrying lowers your dps because it knocks you pretty far backwards Only have 2 complaints: - Animations feel weird: like some are animated well and others are like Newgrounds-esque sliding elements type animation. I think they should have committed to the low fps animation. - Overusing enemies: The red warriors are everywhere. My god.

1:15 Hollow knight is one of my favorite games ever but saying it’s the most influential metroidvania doesn’t make sense to me when the genre is literally named after arguably the most influential metroidvania game.

The vast majority today have heavy Hollow Knight influences, and the last games I played with heavy Metroid or Castlevania influences were like... Ghost Song or Bloodstained? That was years ago. The genre has evolved. The only reason we don't call these games "Hollow likes" now is because it sounds terrible and people are used to the term Metroidvania. Also, the genre is based upon the most influential metroidvania game? Did you mean games? You're kind of demonstrating my point if you don't even know where the term came from. 😅 Also, FWIW, Hollow Knight has probably sold a similar amount of copies as the entire Metroid franchise, in a fraction of the time. I don't think most people really understand just how much of an impact this has had on the genre.

As a solo game dev I would understand that “borrowing some” of hollow knight art style IF the wasn’t made of 5 game devs ,if it was 1-2 game dev I would completely understand ,in my opinion making you own art EVEN if it was sh## it would be better then steal,omg 😅

Did this on steel soul and managed to get a time of 2h 12min 36s. While I did make a few slight detours (namely channelled nail, monarch wings, an extra mask and shade soul) I still managed to have plenty of spare time by the end.

I've got a tip for people who struggle using parry and blocking in general, my tip is DON'T look at enemies and their attacks when they're attacking instead look at your character for the incoming attacks It's much easier this way because you don't have to time anything just press the block when you see the attack in the danger area of you character It's kinda like in rhythm games where you don't want to follow each pattern or note but have to press the button when it is in it's place , or just memorize the pattern that's a thing too

I seriously relate to Cottonʼs behaviour when they said that theyʼre a disgrace. Not only that, but to their frustration in general. When you said that bullying and harrassing were wrong acts and highlighting that “thereʼs a person behind that username,” my heart felt warm. People with high success rate usually abominate defeat and some of these canʼt admit it. I really hope that Cotton gets better with time and realizes that failure is a part of ascending. Attacking him wonʼt help with it. Iʼm waiting for a more elaborate and serious apology, despite all his effort and anguish into making numerous of them, but if they ainʼt good, well, redoing wonʼt hurt. Have a nice day too, fireb0rn.
