This featured in the episode 'Space City Special'. Steve Zodiac sang an alternative version of the normal end title vocal just before these end titles. Superb stuff arranged by Charles Blackwell.

I remember that episode. Steve sang the song at the Special. So rather than hear the closing theme again being sung, the laid in the instrumental track.

That's correct. I even labelled my VHS recording from 1984!!

Terrific! Always liked this theme. Thanks for posting!

When this aired on Teletoon (The French Canadian one) some episodes had the instrumental theme while others had the french theme.

I remember this. There was an episode in which, at the close, Steve Zodiac sings the end theme in a nightclub. (Don't ask.) Instead of repeating the song over the credits a minute or two later, they ran this instrumental instead.

It's a good jazzy arrangement. The opening sequence was pretty heavy on saxophone.

Thanks a lot. I believe the English version used this for the last episode since Steve Zodiac sang it to end the show.

I remember one show where Steve Zodiac sang the song and they played the instrumental during the closing lyrics but it was on American tv!

If you listen closely, you can still hear Don Spencer’s voice in some parts, namely when he says “My Heart will be a Fireball! A Fireball! Cause you will be the Venus of the Stars!”

I only recall this ending on one episode: "Steve" sang the song during the episode, and the ending credits were shown to the instrumental version.

Nah, that version had guitars and saxophones, to fill out the void that was left by the no vocals

You're right! I also have that episode but in French. Steve Zodiac is signing in English with a band. At the end of the episode, the closing credits are indeed with the instrumental theme.

Right, thanks for that, so if I camcord the record playing that should be ok? Trouble is my camcorder is the old tape style and not digital, just wondering what the sound will come out like, will give it a go soon.
@ez2me200915 жыл бұрын
Yeah, me too! And you can sing on it like a karaoke contest " My heart would be a fireball, A fireball, Everytime I gazed into your starry eyes..." :-) Cheers! Max!

I have a very rare instrumental version of this theme released in the US only, and its the full version without vocals by Gerry Grant, its superb, will upload when I can find a way of doing so without video footage. Anyone know how I go about uploading just a music track? Thanks. By the way this version is fab, thanks for the upload.

Hi, would you guys know where I could get the karaoke version of this great tune? I would love to have a go at it.... Elvis England

I think this is the French Canadian version -The French version had a French vocal.
@ez2me200915 жыл бұрын
Cool! I'd love to hear that! When you want to upload a musical element, you've got to make a video in order to be accepted in the You Tube process. Just use a picture of Fireball XL5 to go along your tune. You can't upload a music without some video.

Was this originally a French rock number written for Johnny Hallyday, a.k.a the French Elvis?

Also has French language credits.

Don't bother recording a video with analog equipment. Too much trouble. Just pick a nice picture and start a Windows Movie Maker projet were you can drop that picture in the video track and stick your instrumental tune to the audio track. This will create a video that will allow you to upload in You Tube. Good luck.

What software did you use to remove the vocals?
@ez2me20098 жыл бұрын
The vocals were not removed. I used a French version of the theme that has no vocals and played with the EQ on Adobe Audition.

What is the instrument that makes the little buzzing sounds?
@BashBrand9 жыл бұрын
it’s likely to be a Clavioline or Jennings Univox (an early form of valve synthesiser), similar to that used on ‘Telstar’.
