Thanks for telling us what happened to the truck! Sorry that the truck was a total loss, but I'm glad everyone is OK & the house was saved. It really could've been so much worse! @Ryan Martin (Fireball Camaro) you should look into Stop Fyre for your fire systems there a replacement for old haylon systems there non corrosive electrically conductive and are gaseous so no mess to clean up and smaller bottles for more compact mounting in cars there used primarily in heavy equipment and farm equipment fire suppression and there handhelds are rechargeable with maintenance so as long as it’s got gas it can be used even if you’ve had to put out a couple of fires with it already

Nice to finally hear the story. So happy you can laugh about it and give Ricky a hard time without sacrificing a good friendship. Losing a vehicle to fire is a horrible thing. I know this firsthand after watching my one and only 1969 Camaro burn (reason for my internet moniker). I had a similar incident happen where I was first on scene at a really bad motorcycle crash. When I called 911 I was exactly 4 miles from the ambulance shed I finally got 911 to dispatch a air lift helicopter from 30 miles away and it arrived landed and the flight crew was at the accident befor the local ambulance crew got there from 4 miles away. All because both ambulance crews were out at lunch at a local restaurant. From my first 911 call to being looped in the the Helicopter flight crew giving vitals and trying to keep this man alive the helicopter landed 21 min after 911 was called and the local 4 mile away ambulance crew arrived at 37 min for the second injured motorcycle rider. The helo was lifting off with the first one as the Ambulance was just arriving. Sad to say the air lifted man died from head injuries him and his friends were riding Route 66 from Chicago to LA they were from Australia. I met the man’s daughters when they came to claim his body and they thanked me for trying to help their dad

I knew it burned down from the hints you’ve dropped and it was mentioned in some of Shawn’s videos when upgrading Aiden’s truck. I just had no idea of how or details. It would still be nice to know the cause of the fire it might help others to possibly avoid it. I also hope the fire department caught a lot of hell over this and learned to not have all their equipment and manpower somewhere else and not ready for a call.

Wow! Talk about a comedy of errors. I don't know that if a "story" was filmed about this without the input of you all that anyone would believe that this is true. This a so amazing. So many pieces came together in a awesome way, only to be destroyed in an astounding manner that could have been so much more worse that it was. Fortunately no one was hurt. Unfortunately you lost a truck load of money, because time and effort are tied directly to money, and the lessons that you all learned throughout this whole situation are invaluable. I am thankful that you all can laugh about it, and it is one super hilarious story, thank you for sharing it in an absolutely funny way that you all and us can enjoy and laugh about.

Trans line busted and sprayed the exhaust from what I understood
@gullreefclub
@gullreefclub Жыл бұрын
@@jasonsullivan324 Makes me wonder if the line wasn’t too close to the headers and melted. That said fires like this are the reason I avoid using flexible lines as much as possible. I have seen way to many vehicles burn to the ground because someone thought it was a good idea to run flexible fuel line from the tank/fuel cell/fuel pump(s) (at the back of the vehicle) all the way to the engine and or transmission cooler lines. I admit it a pain in the buttocks to bend had lines but in the end they are generally cheaper and lighter than A/N braided lines, look better if done well and cheaper. Additionally if you run good quality stainless lines you don’t have to worry about ethanol/methanol damaging them like you do with flexible lines.
@1sicsrt
@1sicsrt Жыл бұрын
Same thing happens on USPS trucks where the mailperson will get into slippery mud, wet grass, ice or snow without chains...they ratchet the shifter from reverse to drive and wood the gas pedal causing extreme amounts of trans line pressure which inevitably splits the trans lines, thus spraying trans fluid on the, now red hot, engine and/or exhaust. That happens as often as the mailperson delivering mail...happens all the time....and most of the time it's on the LLV which is a GM platform.

Been a fire fighter for 15 years. Volunteer and paid. We always keep a truck in service so if this happens we can at least have a truck ready to roll when the tones drop. Not saying anything bad cause you are right about the hoses. You have about ten to fifteen mins of putting stuff up to ride out. But still if one in in service and ready to roll you can get there and start to put water on the hot stuff.

It'd be a daily driver like the Malibu that THE OLD MANS GARAGE has with a built 302 or possibly a 331 with inexpensive turbo(s) and trick flow intake and somebody's carburetor on it. I'm a poor boy from the woods of VA. I live in NC and work at a restaurant in Durham NC so will do all the work myself except for cage and other safety equipment that is vital. Give me a good price on it cause I'm sure to ship it here is going to make my pocket scream and my woman leave!
