To anyone that runs into an issue of not being able to deploy the Firebase storage and Firestore rules. Make sure your Firestore database is configured to be in "Native" mode rather than "Datastore" mode. This can be controlled in the Google Cloud Console.

@@cardova4981 Hi - log into Firebase and navigate to Firestore database under the build section on the left. On that page there should be a message telling you the database is in Datastore mode and can be controlled from the Google Could Console. Follow that link and find the option to switch to 'Native' mode. Hope this helps.

How would you manage multiple environments for firebase? Keep switching between multiple project ids? And when you deploy you would change to production firebase id?
