As a UX Designer, we need to define what problem we are solving, who are we solving it for, and the customer journey of the app. Otherwise, we just start publishing trash that no one cares about. Thanks so much. I am new to App creation and was looking around as to what software is used to create new apps and found FlutterFlow and your excellent introduction. I am wanting to create an app for our Scouts club and make the experience individual to the member when they are logged in. Like show them what badges they have earned so far etc.. and also to book trips and make payments for such. Then allow access to learning material. So what you have described today is really helpful, thank you. I am now going to start on the backend database so I can hopefully customise the screen with the users accreditations based on say Badge 1 = 0 or 1 and if 1 display the badge on their page :-) Anyway I am sure this has been done somewhere before. Doc, How are you. I am designing a new version of my fishing tournament app. The app allows a user to create a tournament, invite anglers to the private tournament, specifies what type of fish are allowed, scoring types, etc. Lots of variables. App allows for notifications when other users submit a catch. Needs an tournament directors backend for large tournaments to verify catches with photos, etc. Needs overall admin backend for problem logins, etc. Is this something that Flutter can do? There is lots of reporting on the app that can get complicated. So much more.

Hey great question! From what you're describing yes that's possible. Rehgarding the reporting I think building it with essential stats and scaling the functionality overtime is key to make sure the information and dashboards are concise and it doesn't become too overwhelming but in general yup the platform can the functions you're looking for. Great video, thx for doing it. Question: When you started working with FlutterFlow, what was your overall coding level? Attempting to quantify the lift to get proficient at FlutterFlow.

No problem glad to help! Great question. At the time my coding skills were very low and that's why I chose no code tools like FlutterFlow. For the landscape of all no code tools FlutterFlow does have a steep learning curve on the level of bubble (their workflow and framework are totally different though). Softr is the easiest and glide is very beginner friendly but FlutterFlow you do need to understand the key principles to use the platform. In general I would first start with- what is your goal with the platform? Are you trying to build a specific type of applications or learn become an expert of the platform to get clients etc.

Hey great question! Those errors can occur for a few reasons. Number #1 are signed into multiple gmail accounts in one browser? If so sometimes that occurs. Second if you are in just one gmail account when you go to accept the terms what do those screen work like exactly? Are they error pages? Or are they fully loaded pages?

Hi I’m very new to this, I’m planing on making an app that enables users to create packing lists for going on holiday or on trips. The idea is that you can organise everything you need to pack and have functionality to tick items off the list when you have packed them. I am also planning on adding a feature where you can add the weight of an item and then the total weight of your luggage is calculated. Within Flutterflow would it be possible to import a library of the weight of items, or create one myself, of common items, and then have it so that when someone adds, say a MacBook to their list, it is able to find the weight of it from the library then add it to the weight section? Hopefully this makes sense, my plan is to start with very basic functionality and then build from there, just curious if this would be possible somewhere down the line. Thanks for the video.

No problem and congrats on the start of your journey! In general yes. You could do this a few different ways. For example, you can do that being creating a collection of different items that have weights or you could create a page for users to be able to add to the overall database for the app so now other users could select common items. But I can't get beyond agreeing to terms of service. It takes me to where it's supposed to be allowed to agree, and then keeps telling me to Try Again, with the particular error message given "There was an unknown error while processing the request." Very useful video, learnt a ton! Is it possible to populate listview dynamically? So instead of selecting an existing collection, we could have a button that generates a collection of documents for the user that is signed in, and displays those documents in a listview under the button?

Glad it was helpful! I don't see why you couldn't but you would have to build out the logic and depends the exact way you set up your backend database but in general I think that could be done. There are some details you would need to consider but in general the functionality you describe you could do in FF.

Hey thanks for stopping by! It could be possible but a few things would have to happen. Regarding the playback speed you might need to use a third party video player that is embedded into the app for that feature. Regarding unlocking content you could do that with logic based on actions. polls and quizzes you could do with forms. All these are possible actions but I would first focus on one main feature and then build as your scaling the app. Hope that helps, take care!

Hey glad it was helpful! To answer your question- yes, it's possible to have an offline line mode for the db to sync when you're back online. This will take a custom approach based on the actions you're saving etc but it is possible. Please note I would first go into the FF community or pay for an expert to walk you through options and the extent and actions you do in offline mode. Answer to 2nd Q: I would have to know more details about the auth and tokens but in the API advanced settings and refer to the documentation here- docs.flutterflow.io/data-and-backend/api-calls/api-calls-101#headers but in general, I believe this is possible but I can't give a complete answer without knowing the specifics. Hey Jan! Great question! How familiar are you building with no code tools? In general you need the staff to input their info in a form element to submit the information and it will save in the database (that you need to set up in firebase or supabase etc). Regarding getting information from a database it depends what you mean. Are they interacting with the data or only viewing it? So in general I would first write out the actions needed in the app to plan out the functionality you need for flutterflow or any platform you want to use. Hope that helps! Take care! They put in data, someone else at a later time should review the data and add data and pictures to it. Based on some kind of code they have to be able to review the data and change it. I don't know the specifics with jotform and if from the form it's saving to airtable, google sheets etc. but it could be possible if you're using a REST API from jotform to a database like supabase or something. Hello Doc. Can you help me solve the problem in Flutter Flow? My problem is this: in my application there are categories, and each category has its own products. The home page has a search function, that is, there we can find products by name. Each product also has a geolocation. The problem is that when we search through search and find a product, the geodata on the Google map shows correctly, but when we go to the product through categories, the location is the same for everyone. Great question! FlutterFlow wouldn't be a good solution for that project. That type of project would best be code based. You could prob do it with bildr but the time and energy would take too long and I thinking coding would be a better solution.

Hello Doc, I want to develop a system for my project. Basically its a mobile attendance app where students login and scan the QR codes to mark them as present. And the tutor can view the total attendance from his computer. I'd also like to implement a location verification system so that they don't just scan from anywhere. Hey thanks for the question! I like the concept but is there a reason you want the student to use a qr code rather then filling out a form? I ask because if the student is using a qr code you would still need a process to have the student to identify who they are after scanning the qr code. Unless you only want it to calculate the total attendance and you do not need individual checkins

Hey great question! At this time I wouldn't be able to provide tutorials like that but if I come across great tutorials on subject I will def let you know. For FlutterFlow threads would be possible but tiktok would be a challenge and very limited compared to the features of tiktok right now.

I want to create an app (iOS/Android/web) that allows me to track the trips of different drivers with their own login accounts (about 40) using various vehicles each day. Additionally, the app should have the ability to record manually the start and end times of their shifts. For each trip, the license plate, the location and time of the start of the trip, the location and time of the end of the trip, any special notes, and the final odometer reading need to be recorded. The registration should be able to be closed at the end of the day, so that changes cannot be made afterward, except by an administrator. A daily report should be generated that can be sent/printed as an email and/or PDF. Furthermore, I want the database to be accessible from the office so that specific trips can be searched based on license plate and date. The web version for the office only needs a consultation/search function. The mobile version should allow users to browse through the trips taken on the current day and possibly make adjustments as long as the day has not been closed. Additional functionalities will likely be added over time. I’m very curious about flutter flow and I hope it will be possible. I’ll watch your KZbin tutorials. Thanks in advance.

Apps made by flutterflow are they laggy? I worry about lag and bugs and issues after a while of it being launched. How often does it need updated?

Great question! In general no but it'll depend on your database design with APIs etc. In general, no there shouldn't be an issue with lag like other no code platforms. Regarding updating because it's cloud based the updates will be automatically for your application in the building process. Hope that helps and please let me know if you have more questions!

There are some language models that are capable of doing text to music but if you’re trying develop your own app at this time you would need to have some experience coding. That might change in the next few months because the rapid releases of new features but at this time you need to be able to code use the LMs. If things change I’ll update you or make a video if it’s a popular subject. Please keep in mind there are platforms that allow you to do AI music Generators now but you I have not seen evidence to do this with no code for yourself at this time.

I have looked at that template in a while but in general, templates like that one is helping you get ahead with the format of the app but for it to work like IG you need a database attached and build a lot of the actions you want. If you can give more details of your current skill level with no code builders and experience with APIs or databases I can give some more details that might help you.
