I also want to add that I think the second 10 cards he copied from Firebat's deck included Mecha'thun so there is a chance he drew it himself and realized what was going down. Alex Pastrana He's a Rogue, he doesn't draw from his opponent's deck, but gains cards from his opponent's class. Mecha'thun is a Neutral card... so the opponent could not have received Mecha'thun from Academic Espionage.

This is a very interesting Combo Deck because the ideal situation is that every single one of your combo pieces is at the very bottom of your deck. You don't want to have your combo pieces in your hand because they are a waste of space.

I honestly believe that there is a viable miracle deck in academic espionage, yes you have to actually draw the cards but almost every card you draw is completely broken and "draw your deck" is the miracle rogue mission statement. You can still draw quite deep with a good auctioneer which makes it reasonable enough in most games and unless they're doing something similarly insane (like making a zombeast every turn) it seems like you just grind out every non-combo slow deck for borderline free wins. The main issue I've been having so far is with aggro decks like baku paladin, but that has nothing to do with academic espionage and everything to do with being a rogue. Fan of knives and vanish just aren't enough to keep up so unless spreading plague and the other control tools hate "go wide and smorc" strategies out of the meta it might be very difficult to make this work. But the core strategy of shuffling broken things into your deck and then drawing a lot of cards has felt very powerful so far.

That's nothing compared to Blood of the Ancient One. I literally had to play it against the innkeeper just to hear the sound it makes when it attacks. After dozens of games, not a single person would stay in the game for the 5 seconds it would take me to attack with it. I think Blizzard should allow you to choose whether or not you want to play your next turn after the opponent concedes or alt + f4's.

But why not just play Cataclysm MechaThun Warlock? Use two of the 1/2 guys for 2 that decrease mech cost then play MechaThun for 8 Blood Bloom or Blossom the thing that makes spells cast for health then you win. Permitted you drew your entire deck first.
