I absolutely love my first gen fireboard and have recommended it to tons of people, that have since purchased it as well. My only problem is that the wires on the probes seem to not be able to hold up well to a smoker doors weight and they get pinched and then no longer work. I wish there would be a way to make better wiring for the probes. Do these new probes have better wiring to help hold up to a smoker door resting on it. I'm not talking slamming it, I'm talking gently resting it down on it. On my pellet grill I have a small hole I added to put them through, guessing I need to do that to my big smoker. If these cables are stronger, not worried about the 1200 degrees, I would purchase the new 2 pro.

Why did you only make it to hold 3 type k couplers? Why not 4?

When will a Fireboard 3 come out?

Nice. My own request would be a wireless probe that could communicate with the FireBoard unit. Kinda like Meater but, you know, actually good.

I totally agree, wireless probes are going to be the standard. Fireboard really needs to pioneer this. Meater has the right idea but can't dial it in to work as it should.

Meatstick seems to have the right idea with a totally submersible wireless probe. Perhaps a collaboration is in order? Like Fireboard and Yoder did?

Definitely looking to purchase a Fireboard soon. Love the technology, features, and great reviews/comments that it gets. My only reason for purchasing your Pro model would be to measure temperatures inside my wood stove (in addition to use in my smoker). Can you comment on the 2's ability to do this? Where would I place the probe to get an accurate measurement without risk to damaging the probe? Thanks.

I'm going to put this here as it's your newest video. After watching more than a few KZbin videos, doing some research and getting jealous of a another soccer dad monitoring his cook at the game with a pellet grill using another system, FireBoard was going to be the system that I was missing for the convenience for long cooks and/or cold or inclimate weather for my Weber Summit Charcoal Grilling Center. Half the reason I liked being outside was to be away from the Mrs. ;-) but if you have a great grill/smoker, why not have a complete system? Right? It was delivered the day before x-mas just in time for the huge rib roast that I make and give much of it away to family members as a x-mas gift for dinner. It was really cold out. I don't like to use the word "game-changer", but my FireBoard 2 Drive is indeed a game-changer and is far too convenient and detailed that I was almost kicking myself for not purchasing one ealier. The monitoring, the graphs, the drive and blower system require me to only make a couple of adjustments to my vents for long cooks, and help keep me inside, warm and dry and I can run errands or go away, and call the Mrs. to make any slight adjustments to the grill if needed. My only suggestion, and I realize that black is a pretty popular color, and that somethings are outsourced, would be to make the charging chord/unit a color such as red or orange that sticks out more when keeping it next to other, usually other black charging cables. I had only used the charger twice and like to keep all my chords in one place, and it got lost among among the various phone chords, so naturally I accused my wife of putting it somewhere else/moving it. The next day I found it was there all the time. She tied a ribbon around it, but if it stood out more/ say a different color, it would save some trouble for us Fred Flintstones. ;-) Oh, and when calibrating the probe temperatures for anyone still reading, it was easy enough to figure out how to increase the temp.s, but it took this knuckle- head, even after watching the video, that you had to double tap/depress the button twice to go the other direction. Love my FireBoard 2 Drive system and I can't help talk about it to some of my customers and pull out my phone to show them some of cooking sessions. You can't do a lot of things during the pandemic, but you can certainly grill and smoke more at home.

We're glad you like it! And we'll share your cord color suggestion with the team.

So, exactly the same as FireBoard 2?
@FireBoardLabs3 жыл бұрын
Nope! The FireBoard 2 Pro (FBX2K) supports up to three type-k thermocouple probes, which are capable of monitoring higher temperatures than the thermistor or RTD probes that are compatible with the FBX11, FBX2, and FBX2D. Learn more about the differences here: www.fireboard.com/two/

Not sure why the plug is departing from industry standard
@markkwasnick11653 жыл бұрын
It is an industry standard, I believe. Just not typically in the grilling scene.
@laurenshessels64553 жыл бұрын
@@markkwasnick1165 Correct, for thermocouples this is the standard. But there are not many BBQ controlers that use thermocouples. I believe the Heatermeter project by Cap'n Bry was one of the first to use a thermocouple way back in the days as a pit probe. If you are into DIY I'd recomment you give it a look.
@NotOurRemedy2 жыл бұрын
Being able to Monitor high temp is a big deal. People use thermocouples in other industries. I hate having to go to analog for pizza or searing steaks.
