Bought myself a couple of Firebox Box Pots and one of the baking stones. Took it out for the first time and did some baking.
Used a Trangia alcohol stove and lit another stove on top to see if there was enough heat to cook from the top as well as underneath. Complete experiment and I was pleased with the result.
Will definitely be trying this combination out again so if there is anything you fancy seeing being baked or cooked then leave you request in the comments.

I have two suggestions. Try adding a tablespoon of water. The steam will transfer the heat better than dry air. Maybe suspend the cake above the stone on a rack of some sort. I'd definitely call your effort a success. Well done sir. I'd probably eat the burnt bits! Also I was expecting some Captain Beefheart. If you know you know.

Neat baking that. I've done muffins at home but never on a cook/camp out. I have an "oven" setup like yours to heat items and always put a metal trivet above the ceramic as @EpicureanHikers suggests. Cheers!
