A up kev lad, nice little bit of maintenance that chap, I must say I do neglect my stuff a little, apart from my shelter and sleeping equipment. I need to invest in a Bush box 👍 ATB Dave 👍

Hello, Steve from firebox recommends cleaning the firebox with water. Honestly I don't see the point, even stainless steel would live perfectly in a world without water and oxygen. I just wipe it with a little oil, it removes all the dirt and a good part of the soot. I use another one to remove the excess oil, just like Steve does. I have absolutely no problem. No corrosion, everything slides perfectly. I use oil ballistol, which I buy in 500ml bottles, it's very economical, you only need a little bit. I don't use aerosol for ecological reasons. Here is my little testimony. And thanks you very much for your vid =D

In his cleaning video, Steve does it dry with red scotch brite pads. I agree with what you're saying though, I don't really see the point of cleaning with water either. I use mine every day.

After swabbing out the excess ash, I just give mine a good spray bath of WD-40 and wipe it down. The WD-40 really cuts the soot, and never a speck of rust ever.

Kev, I’ve been thinking about cleaning the stove and instead of the gun oil why not try the spray cooking oil? That would make it so you could put food directly on it without worrying about contamination. Just a thought 👍🏻

The only prob is u got to be careful the cooking oil doesn't catch alight with the flame buddy I always us that oil never had any probs buddy but that's just my opinion

AFTER SPRAYING GUN OIL, THE STOVE DOES NOT NEED TO BE WIPED?
