Wilderness Backpack Tarp Camping with Pack Goats. Trout Fish Tacos! & Firebox Nano Stove Cooking.

Trout Fish Tacos were Awesome! Monsoon Season Tarp Camping at 10K can be stressful when watching the weather but it's a funner way to camp. Cooking on the Firebox Nano Stove Gas Burner was fun too!
The goat conversation usually goes... Me: "Let's take the goats, they'll cary all our stuff!" My family: "No way Jose they're jerks!" On this occasion I was already "Goat Packing" in another spot on this same mountain when Jess wanted to do one last backpack trip with Luke prior to him going back to school. Rather than making me drive four hours to take them home she decided to give them a chance. Generally, It went okay. During the hike, my instincts wanted to keep everyone together in case we needed to take shelter the goats didn't like hiking with friends and Luke and Jess got tired of defending themselves with their hiking poles so we had to keep some distance. Later in to the trip Luke got a mild bump to the ribs from Bill's horns which scared him more than it hurt. Never the less, he was sad for a few minutes. Maybe with a little more practice we can find our goat packing groove as a family. I hope I can talk them into trying it again.
All in all the trip went very well, we had a lot of fun fishing, swimming and cooking good food. Monsoon season had just started so they hadn't lifted the fire-ban which was brought on by a hot dry summer. We stayed in fire restriction compliance by cooking with the Firebox Wood Flame Gas Burner and it's handy Emberglow Ti Defuser Plate. The Food turned out amazing, Luke even enjoyed roasting marshmallows to perfection over its wonderful radiated heat.

Finally got to use the firebox products On a pk trip in the sinkyone wilderness area of the lost coast Along the California coast We had our fish tacos but they were made out of red tailed perch out of the surf Fantastic beach dinner Thank you firebox for the good memories

Oh yeah! The nano could cook for a family of five with the gas burner. Using wood it would be a little more difficult but that gas burner is perfect combined with the Nano 👍👊🤠

Tiger. Which is a cross between a brook and a brown produced in fish hatcheries to be planted in these lakes. They are sterile and do not naturally produce.
