The commissioner of prisons does not guard prisoners. Its the resposibility of wardens and other officers below the commissioner. Its these cadre of officers who should have been investigated for errors of commission and ommission that led to escape of the prisoners. Ideally the commissioner and the minister responsible for prisons should resign voluntarily as a sign of taking responsibility. Hard core criminals escape from police cells but police boss has never been arrested in such dramatic manner. There was no need to send police officers in full combat gear to the prison headquarters yet it was posible through the right channel to have the commissioner visit the DCI for questioning. Why was civility thrown under the bus.

He was not being requested to report to the DCI to make a statement. He was being arrested. And in any case, by the time he was being arrested, he had already been fired. When you have a reccurent problem affecting most prisons, and no one ends up being held to account then you go after the person at the top of the organization, because he has failed to act.
