Broken Standpipe System

Having served in the navy and now as a volunteer firefighter I wonder if the damage control methods the navy uses to patch broken pipers would be effective to the fire service. Looking at the example you showed In this video a jubilee patch could have that pipe good to go in less than 5 minutes
