Firefighter dies after battling house fire on Chicago’s South Side

A Chicago firefighter has died after a house fire on the city’s South Side, officials announced Tuesday. Two other firefighters were injured.

Way too much attention to firefighters who are hurt and killed. Fire fighting is but one more public sector position in which the employees understand the risk and choose it anyway for salary, time off and pension. I would be much more impressed if expensive city resources honor a big box store employee in which a pallet jack falls and kills. Think about it taxpayers, firefighter salaries are a high cost to the public.
