In my first video of the lights during the daytime I go into detail on the brands and all, check it out and it’ll give you all the info your looking for. I also have an updated video that I posted a few months ago showing the lights I added and took off, check that one out too I think you’ll like it.

So ... what are your EVOC (emergency vehicle operator) qualifications ie: training? In addition to that, what are your EVOC quals in your personal vehicle (ie; EVOC training in your specific personal vehicle ... 2WD vs. AWD vs. 4WD vs. vehicle type, etc)? Does your insurance company cover you when you're operating your personally owned vehicle (POV) as an emergency vehicle? What are the laws in your state regarding emergency lighting in private vehicles? Just curious, because this exact kind of thing has caused legal (and liability) problems for individual volunteers and their departments across the United States in recent years.

MCP2461 these are some great questions. I’m actually a paid operator with my department but we do also have some volunteers too. The paid guys have to go through a defensive driving corse, which is just like an EVOC corse but without the high speed driving. We have to complete the corse with every fire truck in the district forward and in reverse before we can get released to drive that truck. Volunteers have to complete a similar defensive driving corse with their personal vehicle that they’ll be using to respond to calls in but their not required to do the corse in reverse. Volunteers aren’t allowed to drive the fire trucks where I’m at so their corse is a little different. It doesn’t matter if the vehicle is 2, 4, or all wheel drive, and no specific vehicle type. Your insurance company has to be informed that you’ll be using your personal vehicle to respond to emergency calls which causes your insurance rates to rise because of the higher risk at hand. Your still at fault if you cause an accident while responding to an emergency call, just like if you caused an accident while driving on a normal day. Your required to have red or red/white lights visible 360° around your vehicle and the lights must be visible from at least 500ft away during the daytime. Thanks for your questions, I hope I answered them all.

it is very state dependent. im sure by now you know, but most volunteers in the US this is a common practice. and for most states that allow lights and sirens etc, there is a lot of specific exemptions and coverage usually comes from the department itself. unfortunately, evoc standards are almost non existent.

The lights in the wheel well look good. I hope road debris doesn't get them.

I removed them and added new lights to the fenders. You can check out my latest video and let me know what you think.

Is everything else feniex except for your custom dash light?
@treycamardelle4 жыл бұрын
derek phillips the only thing feniex I have is the two lights on the front license plate, everything else is Whelen with the exception of the two code3 mega thins under my tailgate.

Why did you go with Whelen over feniex lights? Feniex seems to be brighter. We want more content.

What's the dash light
@treycamardelle4 жыл бұрын
The Kentucky hillbilly enginener for life - The dash light is a light that I made out of two Whelen liberty modules and a flasher. Then I made a housing/shroud for it to reduce the flashback and make it a little cleaner look. I have a video on how I made the housing/shroud on my channel if you need to know how to do it.
