Love the content as usual. In response to your question, personally I would love to see some footage from your conventions. Whether it be table set up videos, artist alley vlogs, or convention prep videos. I could go on and on. I absolutely love the aesthetic in your videos! Thank you for making this video, It definitely helped me with pricing and how I will attempt at selling buttons.

Do you have an opinion about making handmade buttons with cardstock, epoxy stickers, and gluing the pins on the back? Is this a good option if we're beginners that can't afford a button maker yet?
@FireflyRaye2 жыл бұрын
I think that's a very cute idea! I love seeing more unique ideas like this, so I say go for it! When I first started out I often had to hand-make a lot of things that I now get produced elsewhere, but I never had any trouble selling my handmade works.

From my experience I bought a button press for $150 on eBay and while it was okay for the first 100 buttons, it stopped working. Also my credit card got compromised in the process which sucked but that’s besides the point. It sucked because it was my first time being able to afford something like that but for it to just not work lmao. Now that I have a side job, I’ll be investing in a better button press in the long run. when it comes to heart shaped button presses (or the other unique shapes), they are mostly on aliexpress. I saw one for $700 or more so they are a bit of an investment. However if I learned from the first run, you get what you paid for so I’m sure those button press work well. It’s just a matter of having the money to invest it one.

It is definitely an investment! Sometimes it's better to get a cheaper button press, just to see if you really enjoy making buttons or not without having to pay hundreds of dollars up front. If you find out you don't enjoy it, then it's not a huge loss. But you're exactly right, you get what you pay for. Thank you so much for sharing your experience!

As far as I know that is the only place you can find them. If anyone else knows more, please feel free to chime in!

Love the video! Do u you have any tips on designing and producing your first ever prints? I never worked on such detailed products and I dont really know how to structure my prints
@FireflyRaye2 жыл бұрын
I would recommend looking at some of your favorite artists and see how they structure their prints. What do you like about how they did the illustration? What is it about the composition and colors that is pleasant to look at? I think when you can answer those questions, you can start applying them to your own art (but of course, only take inspiration, don't copy!).

What kind of paper do you used? I want to make it look nice and glossy but I wasn't sure its the paper or the printer.
@exxxo32 жыл бұрын
not sure if youre still looking for a response, but the glossy effect comes from the clear plastic layer that goes on top of the printed image when you actually assemble the button :)
