“We have a pretty high fitness standard here at South Metro”, meanwhile a firefighter is cycling in scuba gear.. LOVE IT!

One thing I notice throughout all the great videos this organization puts out is the constant use of the word 'fortunate'. I love to see people who appreciate what they have and are given. "We are lucky to have this workout space", or "we are fortunate to have this outdoor space." You can see that each and every one of these firefighter/EMT's truly are happy to be there. Quite refreshing when compared to employees of other industries who would rather be someplace else. Thanks to the PR staff for making such high quality, informative and entertaining videos. Especially for those of us who are not lucky enough to work in the fire service. Sometimes vicariously is as close as you can get...

Hello My dream is to be a firefighter and I want to work up to a fire captain and I have a few questions that I always wanted to know but I can't find out. This is my first question is there a thing as a district captain and can a captain be a officer and can it be called a captain officer and what does a fire officer do and was does a district do? If you answer these question it would make me very happy.

Question - What happens when the dive team gets a call but the team members are out on a fire call or medical emergency?
@Spitfire85202 жыл бұрын
They try to quickly get the dive team units back in service if the call they are currently on is minor so that they can respond to the dive call. SMFR has two dive units that will get dispatched on dive calls, so at least one of units are usually able to respond if the other one is not available at a serious fire or medical call.
