It's amazing that this locomotive has cylinders facing the cab, unlike a typical locomotive. I've seen a few fireless engines in America, but I haven't heard much of those in Britain. I am also amazed that this engine has a bell instead of a whsitle

It uses a bell because a whistle would consume more steam.

These engines are made to work inside as sell as aoutside factories. The bell is to warn pedestrians/ Have preservationists tried unsing compressed ait instrad of steam.

Según Wikipedia no se conserva ninguna fireless en España: visiten ustedes Blanes, al lado de Lloret de Mar, en la avenida Europa verán una Koppel 040 de la fábrica SAFA expuesta como monumento, de vía (track) 1668 mm.

How come it has a mini funnel
@SteamboatWilley4 жыл бұрын
I'm not quite sure what you mean by "mini funnel". The exhaust steam is exhausted through that black pipe on the back of the cab. The dome on the receiver serves the same purpose as a dome on a conventional locomotive boiler.
