Whats better is that they were originally gunna use the human torch for the show but like the fantastic four cartoon at the same time, Johnny storm couldnt be used so in that show they created herbie and for this one they created firestar. As they say "limitation breeds creativity" and she became somewhat popular getting her own comic run, joining the new warrior then getting into other media too 😊 im so glad legal bullsh*t happened so we got this cool superheroine

She's not forgotten. She had been on the main X-Men team in the comics for a good year and a half before she then became pivotal in the fall of Orchis, another anti-mutant group.

Now this is a fine example of when Marvel's depiction of a female character is done right! The fact that this animation is from the early 1980s and does a better job of doing so as compared to the recent movies they have produced should be a wake up call for their studios to take a trip down memory lane to take notes on what this show had done right. I especially love the quality of this animation which puts to shame so many of the newer CGI based shows these days. Firestar was truly a standout superheroine not just in the animated Marvel universe but also among all other animated shows of that decade. She was only surpassed by other animated shows such as She-Ra Princess of Power and of course the X-men Animated Series that came out later in 1992. Anyhow excellent editing of her best scenes. I had not seen most of these scenes, so this was indeed a real treat! Where can we watch or stream all of the episodes in the same full screen high quality that your clips present us with?

FYI... They wanted to use the human torch from the fantastic four, but due to copyright legalise, they couldn't. They created Firestar for the heat hero.

It's because of the original Human Torch, Jim Hammond, from the 1940s. His creator didn't die until 1984, and that's when they were finally able to use Johnny Storm in animation.

The highlight of my week as a kid, Sat morning cartoons...big fan of Xmen, Iceman, Firestar, GI Joe, Transformers and others...thought I realize some of those became daily shows. The 'cartoon' version of Firestar is totally different from the character's origin in Marvel Comics. Firestarter was not recruited by Professor Xavier and his his X-men. The character was one of Emma Frost's "Hellions".
