Ok but Xavier totally would, right? Even before factoring in Deadly Genesis, Xavier totally would. Anyway, I wish that James could have stuck around this version of the team. I've always enjoyed his interactions with Storm and Logan in modern teams, and how his youth gives an interesting variation on his brother's role. Imagine if Warpath/Thunderbird II had been the junior member of the X-Men during, say, the Outback era? Or the Blue/Gold?

I really want a book or an arc with the original Hellions in the Krakoa era, they need to reclaim the name tho, Frost Academy doesn't have the same ring.

Given the character's backstory it's probably pronounced Hi-may and not Jamie. Same with DC's Blue Bettle. Given that Claremont wrote the issue, I'm even more convinced of it.
