Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 Ultra Performance Summer Tire Review:
In this video, I review the BRAND NEW Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 Ultra Summer Performance Summer Tires.
Car is boosted with 760 HP. The weather was great, about 72 degrees but windy. I only had a few dozen miles on the tires at the time of this shoot.

Got them on my subaru legacy. It's made a moving boat feel even more pleasant to drive haha. Can absolutely agree with your mention of how it soaks up the bumps and potholes. Stopping and cornering on these without much fear either.

I will be picking up a set tomorrow. I hope they are as good as they are rated to be. I like the design (not necessary) and they are 81.70 a tire for my car. super affordable for my rice burner! I will be testing them at an autocross event at the end of the month, I may also do a follow up on their performance!

Have them and love them. Expecialy for the price. One downside if you aren't aware. They measure one size narrower. My 255 measure 245. And on front 225 measures 215. My next will be one size bigger.

Just put these on my 2017 Procharged / Supercharged Camaro SS. Replacing the Good Year eagle F1's. The eagle F1's were like ice skates. Man, these grip even being supercharged 720 hp. Wow what a difference and they ride smooth and quiet.

Guy, you didn’t do one launch from a stand still. Anyone can floor it at 50Mph and have their tires hook up. Try it from a dead stop which is really what matters.

Great review!! Just purchased today my new Indy 500’s!!! 255/35z/19’s for my 2011 Audi S4. Ran Michelin Pilot Super Sports for $360 a piece the last 2 summers.....just left the shop after dropping a mere $180 each and wondering if Firestone made a mistake pricing these babies!!! Everything you described and more!!! I should of bought 2 sets just In case Firestone raise thier prices when everyone starts to catch on. Great review! I'm thinking about buying so.e for my ISF I'm correcting running continental pro contact dws tires and I have traction issues all the way up to 60. Granted they are all seasons lol. How loud are the tires while driving?

I just purchased these Firehawk Indy 500s for my ISF, and my previous tires were the continental pro contacts as well. They are definitely a nice upgrade from the continentals. More grip overall, especially around corners. I went with 245/35/19 in the front and 275/30/19 in the rear. I say purchase these tires, you will be happy.

Definitely giving these a try next on my 2014 GT. I had super sports but they were bald within 11k miles. I got the hankook evo summer tire instead to see how they serve me. Only negative for the fire hawks is their lack of 305 tire :(

Just got these Indy500 for my bmw e60 530i. I got 245/45r17. They fit perfect all around. They feel smooth and also on the bumps feels good. Also Good grip. I paid $136 per tire... I wanted to go wider on the rear tires. Any recommendations?

firestone/ Bridgestone always make great tires..... top ratings at tire rack... been on them for years ride nice tons of grip.... great in the rain and last to0 ...they always keep there pressure and stay in balance .. you'll get 35.000 to 40.000 if your in there ever 5000 miles for service that's the key....

I have a 13 5.0, Roush Phase 3 TVS kit. Crazy powerful. I have the Cooper RS3-S that come on factory Roush cars, but even with 305/35/20 in the rear they just can’t put the power down until 4th gear (3:73 gears). Ordering these ASAP.

Hey WarMachine do you (or any others out there) have any experience with the Michelin Pilot Sport AS3 pus all seasons? Supposed to be 95% dry grip of their summer only tires but can take cold temps. I have a 2008 LS3 Vette with only 436HP and with the original Goodyear Eagle F1 super car run flat tires I can not even launch at 1/2 throttle on a 90 deg day without lots of spin. I live in Cleveland so some mornings I will drive in 20 deg temps until it warms up later in the day.

There is an "outside" mark but they are NOT directional. This is why the tread direction is different from left to right side of the car. I find that weird an unsettling. I got 400 miles on mine. They have good grip, but compared to Michelin they are kinda numb and cannot tell if I am running over the head or the tail of a coin.

These tires are currently $80.99 at Firestone. I'm interested in purchasing for my Infiniti G37 which is having performance issues but I'm concerned about wet roads. I just got these tires for my 2017 2.5 Mazda3 6spd manual to replace the seriously bad Dunlap 5000M Sports. I have Michelin Ice /w steels for the winter. After seeing this video, I can't wait to get these tires on in the spring. I'm currently using Michelin Pilot Super Sports on my 427 Z06. If I hadn't gotten a set of Pilot SS's at the Tire Rack for half off, I would've gotten these tires. I've used the Fire Hawk SV, SVX, SVZs on my modified IROC-Z. They were the best. Much better than Pirelli, BF Goodrich, Goodyear...

I heard it wasn’t Firestone’s fault for the exploding tires. It was an issue with the ford explorers alignment or something like that.

The issue was ford people were complaining that the thing rode too rough when driving around the city/town so instead of changing anything like the suspension or spring rate or litterlly anything to dampen the ride ford just lowered all the air pressure in the tires prior to sale so it rode nice.

Oval. Less rubber to ground but the rubber that is on the ground is damn near drag radial. I only use indy 500's on the rear. They are absolutely amazing tires for the price. I prefer these over nt555 just because there are very good in water also.

I have gone through 1 used rack and 1 new rack. The 302 r version wasn't available. Check the driver side rack boot gets a tear from the oil service door when opened. Mine actually had water in the rack computer board.

​@@adamowens5507 I never had a full set of Firehawks on my car if memory serves me correctly. If I did, I don't remember being dissatisfied with them. I live in the desert, in southern CA. With the exception of this rare El Nino event that started last fall, rain is rare here. So soft compound, summer tires are a year round thing here, if you want. Tread life on soft tires? Huh? I always maintained that you have to pay to play. If you want to play around with soft tires, don't complain that they wear out. If you want performance and long life go ahead and pay for the Michelin Sport whatever tires, at $330 a tire. I understand you are not whining here, so don't take this personally, I just get tired of people who want everything, but aren't willing to pay for it, people who want performance but get pissed because they got the performance, but it didn't last forever. Or people who bought performance summer tires, and complained that they didn't work in 40 degree winter weather. What I found was that the Nittos had adequate performance without a huge price tag. The more I abused them, the quicker they needed replacement. At the time they were about $220 per tire. Others may have been comparably priced I just never got around to buying them. Certainly there were other tires that were more expensive. Since I was on the road not the track, Nittos fit the bill. As far as cornering, results may vary! I try to push it where it isn't critical. Meaning if the tire breaks lose, I wont't damage the car too bad when I find out what the limit of traction is. Empty parking lot, curve that I can go off of without dying, that type of situation. Good luck on your journey, may the road rise up to meet you, but not too fast!

It can take a few hundred miles to wear away the factory film that’s on new tires, which act as a preservative and protectant during storage and transport. Anyways, I’ll probably be replacing my OEM P-Zeros with these rather than the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S just to save some $. I’m just curious to the longevity and grip rating as they age. These properties are high in the PS4S, which are among the reasons for their high price.
