I agree that it does have to warm up, but I didn't feel that the barrel character was subtle to a fault. I really liked the smooth chocolate and tough notes that came through from the base beer and how they blended with the barrel character. Cheers!

Interesting! Other reviewers thought it was a boozy mess, so I've been holding onto my bottles to see if it mellows out. Maybe the extra couple months has calmed it down given your review (and other commenters below).

There is a lot of vanilla and barrel and boozy because it's 13.2% so far I agree with your review but disagree with some points. Personally I think FW has changed. I loved the older barrels better than the new ones. Glad they finally bottled this though! Cheers!

I had this recently and I wasn't really a fan of it. It probably didn't help though that I had it when I was already a little drunk and rushing out the door.

Looks like you drank that a little too cold. The glass looked cold. Bring it up to room temp to enjoy all the flavors the beers has to offer. You taught me that. :)
