Just a quick thing at 5:45 PPPoE isn’t power over Ethernet, it’s point to point network over Ethernet Cool video though, thinking about getting a blue plus but the shipping + import is almost 2x the price of the device :(

My house may be one of the least techy-savvy homes that I know of... but I'm learning more and more what I need to place in my home with these videos and articles. Keep them coming!

At about 5:22 the set up screen says purple, not blue. Is this still part of the blue set up? Thanks

Jack-X, you my friend have a sharp eye! The setup is identical for both devices (at least at the recording of our video shoot)... we just repurposed that section instead of reshooting the same thing....you're good to go...thanks for the heads up.

Pretty rare for an ISP to offer a PPPOE connection. Maybe in Siberia?? I don't know of one, off hand. If you don't want to wait on the phone, just go ahead with DHCP, if it doesn't work, then call the ISP.

I had the Purple and it's a wonderful device but not a great solution if you have a Google WiFi mesh network

What issues were you having with it?

Neat device, but if I was a kid, I would hate my parents for the invasion of privacy and learn a way to get around it. I have no clue how I would manage my kids interaction on the internet, knowing what my reaction would be. Worst comes to worst, just have to actually be a good parent.

1000% Nothing is ever going to protect your kids or keep them safe, other than being involved and having good communication with your children. Just giving parents some tools to help, but nothing replaces the parent itself
