Great work here. Well shot, occasionally *beautifully* shot, editing and pace were perfect, well mixed. How does this only have 1k views? I also really appreciated all the work you didn't show. I've seen that stuff a hundred times already anyway; you focused on what makes this project unique.

Met you at Walmart today. This Jeep is really cool. I’m even more impressed after watching this video. Very well made video and it shows that a lot of hard work went into this build. I appreciate this even more after spending the last 3 evenings replacing the cv axles and ball joints on my rusty CRV. That’s nothing compared to this beast. Great job man.

Very nice job. I have many of those same upgrades for my 94 XJ. The flat flares you used, did they require any cutting of the body? All of the flat flares I've found require cutting the body. I don't want to cut my body. But I like the look of the flat flares. I was planning to do them in alum at some point, but I no longer have access to fab equipment. Thanks for you time and again, very nice work. BTW, if the flares you used didn't require cutting the body, could you forward me the part number and MFG. Thanks and God bless.

How did you buy that jeep? Also any good places to look for a cheap jeep that doesn't have a ton of rust in MN? I love mine and I've done a ton of maintenance to it as my daily but the rust is getting too bad, so you winter beater project is of great interest to me!
@kvtnink
@kvtnink 3 ай бұрын
@@thephoenix5266 my stroker I bought completely stock from a state that doesn’t use road salt and is rust free, that would be my suggestion if you’re looking for something clean. Rust is truly the only thing that will kill these jeeps, everything else is fixable. I’ll definitely put together a little walkthrough on my beater in the next month or two as I’ll be taking it out of storage and getting it ready for use again. Let me know if you have any other questions!

@@kvtnink what's your preffed method for shopping for sight unseen out of state Cherokees? Yes I did everything else on mine but it feels dumb to put money into it when the rocker panels rusted completely away 5 years ago 😂
@kvtnink
@kvtnink 3 ай бұрын
@@thephoenix5266 honestly if it’s just the rockers, you could cut out the old ones, get some 2x6 steel and weld them in place and they look pretty good. Floor pans can be replaced too, it’s just tough once the unibody starts corroding. If you’re in the twin cities area and need a recco for a welder let me know! Also buying sight unseen is definitely a gamble. If you watch the video where I picked this jeep up sight unseen you’ll see that it didn’t quite go as expected lol.

@@kjohns236 thanks a lot, I think it’s the perfect fitment. Sticking out just wide enough to look aggressive, but not obnoxious. These rims are the method 304s. It’s a 15x8 rim with 3.5” backspacing. So any wheel you find with that spec should have the same fitment

Great work and great video. I'm just wondering why you went with such big wheels. I saw you looking for the disc brakes off of a Liberty, and I thought "Heck yeah, he's making sure he can fit 15s.". That XJ is just begging for more sidewall. 15s or 16s max would be ideal.
