Fun fact: the Toyota pickup (referring to the SR5 Hilux 4 cyl diesel) is the only model of any make that can be found in every single country on the planet! A testament to how bulletproof it is. I've had several. Prefer the older models to the new ones. You can still find many of the 80's and 90's with close to 1 mill km on the clock. When they finally die you can get top dollar for them from companies who buy them, refurbish them and ship them to be sold in Africa where they keep on ticking for years to come!

Keyboard cowboys (awesome)… that Tacoma was made in the USA … from the factory it had more US born parts than any of the big three’s trucks …no other vehicle with sales of more than 100k per year was coming close percentage wise at the time … but yeah facts are useless … and old trucks are cool regardless of what brand you mate your bank account too …to keep them on the road! (I’m Tacoma biased for the same reason as you …it fits down the trails I travel with room for the gear I need to get there and back) Thanks for sharing … filming and editing isn’t easy!

Winters the best time for cutting firewood. The ground is hard,no leaves to block your view, if you dress right you don’t sweat so bad and don’t get cold. Best of all …. NO MOSQUITOES! Matter of fact, as soon as Doc gets done with my back I’ll be right back out cutting! as for the truck… If it does the job for you, it’s good. If it doesn’t get one that does!

What size Stihl you got there? 460? 20 or 24 inch bar? I use a Stihl 2in1 file and holder. It has a round file and a flat file for filing the cutter tooth and the raker, or some might call it the depth gauge tooth at the same time. I have a 460 with a 20 inch bar and i also have a 36 inch bar for it. I like to use the little 270 with a 16 inch bar for little branches. I'm getting too old to swing the 460 much. But here in Southern Minnesota not much evergreen, mostly deciduous trees like oak, ash, boxelder. We get as much wood almost out of branches as the trunk. You are doing ok. Don't matter what beatter you use to haul wood. Whatever does the job for you. Also I've found that a chunk of wood burns twice as fast if it is split in half. So i like a few rounds big enough to just fit thru the door on the stove. I also have what is called a Monster Maul for splitting. It's big, heavy and comes with a steal handle. Good video.

Throw a wedge in anytime you are unsure of the tree… it’s the cheapest insurance you could ever buy while cutting trees… if I can’t quite read a tree I tap a wedge in just incase

Thanks sir! In your video titled “wedging a big firewood tree”, you appeared to be having trouble getting it to fall. The video was sped up so I don’t know what you were saying but you were moving the wedges around strategically and got it to drop. This is what I was referring to. Would you happen to still have the video unedited, where I can hear what you are saying... hopefully explaining the wedge placements? Sorry, don’t mean to be a pain 😬
