During Las Fallas 2022 we visited the company Hermanos Caballar, located near Valencia (Spain). Founded in 1880, they belong to one of the largest fireworks factories in Spain nowadays. In this video you can see the production of spherical shells, singleshots, roman candles and more.

Very interesting video, thank you for giving us these insights. They like their plastic shells, and I see the advantages in production. As long as no one complains, they will continue to use them of course. For me, this is a reason not to buy these products, no matter how beautiful the effects are. You will never be able to clean up all the little plastic pieces after a show, and if you're shooting on a lake, it's simply "out of sight, out of mind ". Fireworks already have a bad image, which will increase dramatically in the next years. So I do my best not to further fuel that image, while still pursuing our passion.

Well, you still see this a lot. Also in Italy there is a looot of plastic. Easy and fast in use..however the spherical shells do not give a perfectly round effect like a cardboard hemi. Another reason why I prefer cardboard over plastic😁

Great video, highly educational. Interesting to see how different the spherical shells are compared to more traditional methods. The lack of time-fuse and the use of plastic hemispheres. I'm sure it's a lot quicker in the manufacturing process without having to paste and dry. Thanks for this insight!

Very nice video, very interesting. But for me it's sad that they use so much Plastic. Today there is plastic made of cornstarch, they should use that or paper.

Thank you for showing for us Spolette how this shells made :) I never knew they put it in two depths I always thought shells that looked like this were welded from the side only and then there is the material in it but I never knew there was another plastic shell inside the larger one this explains a lot especially the older type pf shells that were welded at the sides :) We have never used this technology in under socialism we had one shell only and then there is the material in it and always welded in the middle , and we used very hard bakelite plastic for the capsule Cylinder ball shells and softer plastic for the only round ones :) Caballars are awesome company :)

No pasting so less labor. No drying so less time. And I think a more consistent result because every shell you paste will have some minor differences. With plastic, as long as it is the same throughout all batches you won't have this issue.

Please change the name of the video!! It is "Hermanos Caballer" with "e". Caballer means knigth while caballar means "related to horses": It's a pity they have so low skills in English. Their fireworks are higly regarded in Spain. I also dislike the use of plastic. Albeit extremely convenient, it is not really possible to clean all the debris, specially if fireworks are launched by the seaside -quite common here in Spain- or any other water body, forested area or urban environment. I think that, at least in Europe, a "completely plastic free fireworks show" would have its market and mark a difference as compared to other suppliers. It's clearly a market oportunity.
