I feel your pain with Jeeves being terrified about fireworks. I have a female shepherd that I’ve had to get “doggy Prozac” from my ver for as she has literally destroyed my house if she hears fireworks or thunder. Congrats on the skateboard shop as well!

I feel your pain. I came home one day after a thunderstorm and found my retired K-9 had burrowed into my leather couch. It wasn't bad enough to just tear one cushion but he dug the length of the couch and then he went through the bad tearing out the entire back panel of leather. But, I can't complain too much, he caught a bunch of bad guys.

Forget electric, check out charcoal chimney. Lump Charcoal is best but it burns very fast, briquets are just as good if you let them all turn grey before you cook

*_One July 4th - my first in Silicon Valley - I went to Mission Peak park about a mile from my apartment, climbed halfway up the slope. That put me at about 1000 feet. On a clear day you can see all the cities around the South Bay >>>>>> San Francisco to San Jose on the West across the water, and from Milpitas up to Oakland on the East side. Once the fireworks started, it was like looking at all of'em on a bunch of Cell phone screens held at arm's length. Still, Reasonably pleasant. Someone was having a backyard party in one of the million dollar homes at the base of the mountain, with a pretty good band. But the thing that was great was at the end. I looked back at the peak of this mountain... There was a line of people beginning to make their way down the trail, and each one was carrying a small white light. Seemed they'd gotten identical lamps. Looked just like the procession of pilgrims in the final sequence of Disney's 1940 film "FANTASIA!" Magic!_*

Our kitties are absolutely terrified of fireworks noises so we stay at home with them with lots of appliances going to try to drown out the noise. The next door neighbor whom we adore had his grown kids over and they shot off pro type fireworks and it was not good. They were so loud and we were not pleased. Thank God we stay home with our furbabies to try to comfort them. I can't imagine how terrified poor Jeeves was to escape his crate and eat the carpet. The kitties were probably terrified too poor babies.

I have a 10 yr old G shep, my baby had a nervous breakdown the entire week of the 4th...It really breaks my heart in half when they panic, cause there is no calming them down...Pee everywhere! That's what you sign on for as a puppy parent. My little lady hates gun shots, thunder and fireworks...sadly everything I love.

My big 128 pound Newfoundland is terrified of thunder and fireworks. My daughter's friend and mother brought their dog to the city fireworks. It did not go well. They had to restrain the dog the entire time. Don't bring dogs to fireworks. Jeeves is quite the escape artist.
