As a diehard fan of WCW from 1983 on, I hated seeing Hogan come into the company in 1994 and I couldn't continue to be a fan past 1999. But damn, do I wish WCW hadn't died.

Sam Muchnik, who was mentioned and was shown in this video, was my cousin and I had a few really fun conversations with him about sports when I was young. He ran the St. Louis territory and put on boxing and wrestling shows in the area. He was always nice to me and is the reason my family were all wrestling fans to this day!

While the fall has been well documented, I'm really looking forward to you covering the rise of WCW. Even before the nWo, I enjoyed watching WCW slowly ascend to a point where it could reasonably stand toe-to-toe with WWF. Hogan's star power was a big factor, of course, but I think that Ric Flair's return in 1993 was the real turning point. The Man had a short but memorable run in WWF, and that exposed him to a much wider audience. When he went back to his "home" promotion, a lot of us were curious to see what we had been missing.

Cultaholic shall deliver another fantastic documentary with the terrific narrator, Sam Driver. 💯 Merry Christmas, Cultaholic. 🌟🎄🎁 New Update: Looks like our narrator was Ross Twedell, not Sam Driver. 😅 I got used to Mr. Driver being narrator, that I didn't expect any of the others doing it. Thanks for the documentary, anyway.

He increased it but it was already doomed. Eric's horrible management, contracts, and booking already sealed its fate giving hulk hogan ppv points on his contract made no ppv profitable. The one ppv that should of turned that tide he fucked up by overbooking the finish of sting vs hogan. Giving guys like lanny poffo 6 figures a year then never having them work 1 match. Contract matching for hall and nash so whenever anyone got a raise they automatically did while never working their abysmal house show business that no main stars worked. For awhile the house show main events were buff vs david flair with buff having one arm tied behind his back then wondered why they wondered why they lost money at every house show. They won 83 weeks in ratings and made no profit off it. Lol. Say what ya want about tony but he is actually making profit off his tv deals while wcw lived in the red for years, even while they were at their heighth, but eric has worked extra hard to rewrite all this and say "we beat raw for 83 weeks!" Lmao. That's why everyone called him ATM Eric, he was easy to make money off of because he didn't have any investment, just ted Turner money at his dispose.
