Indeed. I lost family on the Axis side of things. On both sides actually. All these Americans that trumpet how they won the war single handed-ly is absolute crap. The war in Europe had been raging. They point at the Sherman *Theres the tank that won the war* If anything the Axis just lost.. Sure the Americans won in the pacific I will give them that. The British didnt put too much effort into defending New Zealand and Australia. Both sides won and lost many battles and millions of men. It was awful there's no disputing that. I just don't like the way people trumpet on.

I recall seeing surplus Enfields in the mid 1950's at Eaton's Department Store in downtown Toronto. $15 each. Now, on a firearms auction site in Ontario Canada, in good condition, they're going or $600 ++. The Mk IV. No 3. seem to be commanding the best prices.
@kakalimukherjee32973 жыл бұрын
Wierd how the price of firearms vary little accross countries, while the cost of living does. A new domestic Lee Enfield costs around the same amount here in India. Because semi auto and autos are forbidden, collectors and hunters go for Lee Enfields mostly.
@saif3163 жыл бұрын
Wow thats amazing, even the spotorized ones are starting to go up in price. Have been wanting to get my hands on an Enfield for the longest time, but the prices are always out side my budget. Thankfully was able to get my hands on an m48 mauser about 4 years ago for a decent price.

The magazine is 10 round, loaded from 2 Five round Charger clips. That particular rifle being a 1914 SMLE No1 rifle does have the Volley sights and magazine cutoff. The action if properly handled is very fast. The British Army pre war had a standard of 30 aimed rounds a minute in one minute, known as the Mad Minute, and yes it is possibly with practice. Though you have a hell of a bruise on your shoulder afterwards.

we (the British military) was using semi auto rifles in WW1 in small numbers called farquar Hill rifles. there was planes too replace bolt actions with semi autos but instead they decided to stick with the bolt because there more reliable and easier to make. The British also believe or used to that if you give someone a fast firing rifle they will waste ammo, hence we standard rifles only became full auto in the 80's

Not sure if shooting blanks or superman. Its not an automatic weapon and shoots fullbore. The metal plate should give a nasty kick. Not sure why they designed it like that. Perhaps they ran out of bullets very often back in those days so they have to run to each other using their rifles like clubs.

Most main battle rifles of ww2 were on the heavy side, this greatly cut down on felt recoil. I own all of the major powers rifles and the Arisaka is probably the worst on recoil, but nothing that can't be managed. However when you fire the carbine/ tanker versions of any of the rifles you get a big flash and a sore shoulder.

Metal butt plates are designed to keep the rear of the stock from splitting. Also, they do not degrade in rough conditions and do not grab clothing like a rubber butt plate might.
