I've enjoyed watching you create. My favorite parts are your expressions of laughter and concern. Looking good bro. I'm with you to the end

I have had mine for two years now. I have dry spells where I don't have time to carve. I took today off to make retirement plaques for some of our teachers. I spent nearly two hours trying to get the keyhole funcion to do what it is supposed to do. I carved five beautiful plaques that I believe they will be very happy with. I have a few gifts to carve this weekend for two that are transferring. I still mess up, I still learn from my mistakes! I carved two plaques Saturday and the wood was beautiful, but didn't carve well. I switcher to oak and it did fairly well. Next year I'm using walnut! It carves well and makes beautiful plaques. Its about staying with it. Taking your time. Its about having a pile of projects for the fire barrel. Learn to laugh at your mistakes, buy extra materials and continue to learn! Oh, I liked the record carve! I do a lot of music themed carves. Album covers, concert tickets, play bills and so on. I think I'll hit the thrift store and get some vinyl for a project or two.

I completely understand. I've now had my machine for 6 months and there are weeks when I am not carving but designing or working on other parts of my business. What I have found personally is always work on project that first get my excited. That keeps me in the shop longer.

Nice overview and pep talk. Always adhere to the 3 Ps: Patience, Perseverance and Positive attitude. I look at it as an enjoyable journey that has bumps in the road. But they can be overcome and just serve to make the journey all the more interesting. Keep up the good work.

Enjoyed your video and admire your perseverance!! How did you resolve the little metal tags from moving?
@businesseveryday2 жыл бұрын
I ended up making a different MDF clamping jig for the metal tags. I had two or three iterations before I go the size correct. I cut the the jib down the middle so that I could apply clamping force and then used a piece of blue tape on top to hold it down. That worked really good for me.

Any tips on why I’m having carve depth inconsistencies? I probe and it carves deeper as it travels on the x axis

first projects are easy with easel but you lose a huge part of machine capability compared to vectric v carve or confusion 360. easel without pro is like MS paint

I switched to VCarve Pro from easel and the learning curve is way worth it. Super feature rich I love it
